First off, just want to say you are the definition of well-rounded. You are a really impressive candidate

Duke-High match
WashU-Match
William and Mary- Low match
Dartmouth- High match/low reach
Richmond- safety
Wake Forest-Low match
Vandy- High match
Brown- Low reach

You are definitely bound to be accepted by a top 20 college. If you do not get into any of these(probably just bc the sheer selectiveness of a college like Brown) I would definitely try appealing.

Duke- reach
WashU- high match or low reach
William and Mary- low reach
Dartmouth- reach
Richmond- match
Wake Forest-match
Vanderbilt-high match
Brown-reach
Stanford- high reach

You should get your test scores a little stronger if you want a good Ivy chance, otherwise stellar app

Thanks for chancing me! Here’s what I think…

Duke- low reach
WashU- high match
William and Mary- match
Dartmouth- low reach
Richmond- ??
Wake Forest- match
Vanderbilt- high match/low reach
Brown- low reach

We have very comparable statistics. You have a great resume and appear very well-rounded. I say the chance is 50/50 that you get into one of the ivies or Duke. I also say you have a slightly better than 50% chance at Wash U but are definitely capable of going to a good school and a good program if you do not get in. You already have Villanova and BC honors programs- two great options. I was also deferred from UNC and accepted to Villanova Honors as well (another reason for me to assume we have comparable chances). Regardless, I wish you the best of luck.

I am in marching band to so simply out of straight curiosity (you can say your prefer not to disclose) are you in the Dartmouth HS marching band? I’m from Cheshire (you probably don’t know us), but I think you guys are amazing. And if your band is anything like us in the fact that you practice almost 24 hours/week, I think it’s a huge boost to the application.

Duke- low/mid-reach
WashU- match
William and Mary- match/low-reach because you’re out of state
Dartmouth- low/mid-reach
Richmond- match
Wake Forest-match
Vanderbilt- high match/low reach
Brown-low/mid reach
Best of luck!

I don’t subscribe to the “reach for everyone” idea, as there are plenty of unqualified applicants just hoping to say that they got into school X that bring down the overall admit rate.

I think your resume is outstanding, but after looking at so many outstanding ones, I’m not sure what to look for anymore hahaha!!! XD

Your ECs are great, so are your test scores (your SAT and ACT actually match unlike mine haha). Your GPA is something not much to worry about considering how inflated grades are at HS’s around the US, but rank might show a slight negative. I agree with a past comment that you could have maybe done a little more volunteer/job activities.

I think you’ll do great. WUSTL should accept you, so should Vandy and the other less competitive ones. The Ivies will be reaches for anyone, like you said.

Duke- high match/low reach
WashU- high match
William and Mary- low match
Dartmouth- reach
Richmond- match
Wake Forest- low/mid match
Vanderbilt-high match
Brown-low/mid reach
Stanford- reach

Your stats are stellar, and I think your ECs show that you are very talented and committed in multiple areas. Like someone above said, your geographical location may hurt for Stanford, but it does also have the potential to help you for WashU. Thank you for chancing me, and best of luck to you!
