chances at engineering (ED)

Hey, can someone chance me for the engineering school? I'm considering visiting NU this summer, so will that help me? Finally, what are their SAT 2 requirements, and what would you say I should shoot for?

Stats:

*I am an Asian Indian Male
*From a competitive public high school in Oregon: Beaverton High School, which was also rated the best AP school in Oregon, so yeah, its a smart school. (On top of that, our graduating class is rumored to be the best class of all time, and we were ranked 704 by newsweek putting us in the top 2.5% of all high schools or something like that!! This was before our class started taking APs, so that number will probably raise even more by next year because our class is that good)

...someone please give an opinion

You sound very well rounded. However, a prospective engineering student with a 24 in the science portion of the ACT might raise some eyebrows. If I were you I'd try to raise that score. I sympathize, though - for the life of me I couldn't get higher than a 27 in science. Then again, test scores aren't everything, and if you keep good grades and extracurriculars, you're a suitable applicant.

SAT II's are strongly recommended at NU, and you have nothing to lose by taking them - if you aren't satisfied with your scores, cancel them and you won't be penalized because they aren't required anyway. If you're leaning toward engineering, definitely take Math Level 2, and maybe Physics and Chemistry, IF you've taken the classes this past year or are prepared to relearn everything. As far as scores go, anything above a 600 is considered very solid, and anything above 700 is more typical of NU applicants (although my scores ranged from 600 to 720).

Visiting NU will help solidify your decision to want to go there and to apply ED, but it won't increase your chances of admission.

Best of luck! :)
