Okay, before someone gives me a hard time about how I'm wasting my time even
applying to FSU, please understand that I KNOW. I've struggled immensely throughout high school, not so much with academics, but personal issues such as depression and serious anxiety. Now, as a high school junior, I am trying to catch up and improve my chances at getting into FSU (school of choice) WITHOUT attending Community College first. Here are my stats:

3.07 un-weighted GPA
3.38 Weighted
I've taken 3 AP courses and all of my general education courses have been honors.
SAT Cum: 1340
Writing: 510 Reading: 460 Math: 370
Spanish Honor Society (1 yr)
I am part of a pre-professional ballet company and I take 12 hours of dance classes/rehearsals every week.
I've got great letters of rec and after next year I will have a hospital externship under my belt.
Writing is a strong point for me so I know I can write an exceptional admissions essay, that sounds cocky but it's the only thing I'm sure I can do well.

Any advice is appreciated. I'm taking the ACT and SAT (again) this fall in September. I plan on applying early and I want to apply for the summer semester after I graduate. Thank you all!

Im also a junior so I know how important this last semesters grades are. If you take time to raise your grades as well as study A LOT for your finals, you should be able to bring up your grades and therefore your GPA. Your EC’s are great, its just the GPA and test scores that are going to hurt you. I suggest taking the ACT and seeing how you do, because your SAT score is definitely not FSU acceptable. You need AT LEAST a 500 in each category to be considered. Some people do a lot better on the ACT than the SAT, so do it! Also FSU superscores your ACT so I would recommend taking that at least 2 times! I dont think its impossible for you to get in, but YOU have to put in the effort to get there if thats what you really want. You might also want to consider applying to UCF, USF, FAU, and the university of tampa as none of these are community colleges but they are not as good of schools as FSU is. Im also applying to FSU next year, so if you need anyone to talk to, im here!

Thank you so much! I plan on taking the ACT. I can’t take it until September, and that worries me because I want to do early admission. I also have an F on my transcript thanks to Algebra 2, but I’m recovering that with FLVS and should be done within the next few weeks and the F will be replaced with an A (yay!). Thanks once again, and if I have any questions I will definitely ask you!
