I have a 3.73 weighted (=[) but should be applying with maybe a 3.9 weighted after I get some semester and online class grades in, with an 1170/1840 on the SAT, a 27 on the ACT, a 10 on both essays, and We The People: The Citizen and the Constitution competition Alumni status after going to the national competition (most probably aren't familiar with the competition but apparently its well respected amongst certain schools, especially FSU) and what should be a really decent essay. Although I wouldn't even normally try for FSU, someone in my school with pretty much no extra extracurriculars got in with a 3.8 weighted and an 1160. So yeah, what are my chances for FSU, UCF, and FIU? Thanks to anyone that responds. =]

I'm also a Florida resident, I'm hispanic, and I'm a first generation college student, and I've heard those kinds of things can play a role in your admissions, so yeah, just putting it out there...

As long as your hispanic you'll have no problem at all getting into FIU regardless of your grades. Mostly all the students, people that work at FIU, people that run FIU is hispanic and they like to bring in there own people. Also, if you have difficulty speaking english that is not a problem at all at FIU. Everybody communicates in spanish on campus.

Now, if your hispanic but want to go to an American University (not one that is technically located in America, FIU proves there is a difference) I suggest you go to FSU or UCF.
