Schools (minus safeties):
Harvard SCEA (yes I am asking for a chance for a school I already applied to hehe...nbd)
Princeton
Yale
Columbia
Cornell (legacy- father)
Brown
Penn (College of Arts and Sciences)
Duke
Georgetown

Oh I forgot. HELP Foundation Community Service Award
(thinly veiled bump)

lol. Indian female is not bad demographic…it’s on the same level as an unhooked white i’d say. When you say “top high school,” how many kids has it sent to top schools in past years? If your school really a “top school,” your gpa/rank should be alright, otherwise you’d want to be in the top 1% for schools like HYP. Obviously SAT I & II are good. The language thing is a little iffy because top schools would like to see continuity in the same language; if you at least ended up taking the highest level of Spanish offered by your school by now, you should be fine but it’s not clear…what are you taking now? Otherwise course rigor looks okay as long as you took all the APs possible in your schedule.

Involvement in your school activities looks decent given the leadership. I guess the only thing that I don’t see are Mock Trial or MUN awards (i haven’t done these so I’m not sure what one can expect in terms of awards) Research is alright but probably won’t standout unless you won something with it or co-published it; I’m sure you talked about it on your Harvard app. Your music involvement (Carnatic?) is pretty legit. Hopefully you sent a music supplement for evaluation as this would help.

If you were an asian male, I’d say tough call, but given that you’re an indian female, it really isn’t much of a barrier. As you may know, a huge portion (maybe 50%) of HYP acceptances are given to those with Hooks (URM, athletes, legacy, feeder/private school kids, staff kids, etc.) so it’s toughed for us unhooked public schoolers. You’ve passed the bar for academics, leadership, and have high accomplishment in a particular area (music). Assuming your essays are good, you’re in the running and I wouldn’t be surprised if such top schools accepted you, but be prepared for the worst of course.

Thanks so much for the detailed chance!! As for your questions:
-Yeah, I’m taking AP Spanish Lit this year (even though I was approved jr year like I said)
-My school is a top 10 public school in the state and sends about 10 kids to ivies every year
-I forgot to mention my regional Best Witness mock trial award
-I sent in an extensive music supplement as well as an additional rec from a music mentor who thinks I’m way better than I am :stuck_out_tongue:
Hope those help!

For these highly selective schools, being Indian is a bigger “disadvantage” than being white; I think it’s on about the same level as being Chinese.

I think you have good chances depending on how good your essays were.

I would place indian female between chinese female and unhooked white male in terms of difficulty of admissions. (gender taken into account)

an estimated rank of 7 does not give you a huge cushion (assuming most of the ivy league kids were in the top 10 last year) but your achievements are aplenty so, it might still be ok.

Harvard SCEA- mid-reach (it’s so hard to say anyone is “in” at Harvard! So many 2350+/brilliant people apply)
Princeton, Yale, Columbia- mid-reaches
Brown, Penn (College of Arts and Sciences), Georgetown, Duke- low-reaches
Cornell (legacy)-match
