What do you guys think? Please be honest.

Holy crap! You will definitely get accepted into either of HYP-- for heaven’s sakes, your Dad went to all three :open_mouth: so you have legacy at…ALL THREE! mygod.

Anyway, yes, you have excellent grades, although to be perfectly honest I guess your ECs are not HYP outstanding since they seem to require ridiculous ‘sparks’ these days. Nonetheless, it is an impressive EC list, a most formidable academic record and an undeniably strong hook.

So yes. In to at leasst one HYP and the rest should be a sail for you!

I’m sure you’re a Junior so just dont mess up with your grades, and you will go to pretty much anywhere you want.

thinking you got 2400 sat right?

I took an SAT class over the summer, we took six tests and I made 2400 on five of them. I’m taking my first actual SAT in December, I’m pretty certain I’ll get a 2400.

1st set: reach
2nd: low reach
3rd: High match
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/803256-chances.html

Ummm… Wow. How do you take 17 AP classes?
HYS - Reaches for everyone but you are probably in at one at least
Columbia/Brown/G’town/UChicago - Low Reaches, probably in at 3
in at the rest except maybe Berkeley and UCLA OOS

“I’m pretty certain I’ll get a 2400.”

?

I’m sure your SAT will be acceptable, so you’ve got solid chances everywhere.

■■■■■ or real…I’m trying to decide.

5.9W gpa…sure

this seems trollish

i’m gonna say ■■■■■ because to be in a hs with 3000+ kids and be a varsity captain your first year on varsity isn’t logical lol, ■■■■■!

^ She wasn’t captain her freshman year

If this is real, you have a great shot at all. If you were to be rejected it would be because of ECs – publish a poem, win a national award, something with national recognition just to put you on the top of your EC game.

Good luck

I would check legacy rules. Most top schools do not consider children of grad school graduates legacies. Berkeley does not count legacies and a sib is a tip factor if they are still at Brown, but does not make you a legacy.

So the only real legacy I see is Princeton–which BTW is a great one to have with legacies being accepted at over 3X the unhooked rate. But alas, Princeton’s not on the list. I would reconsider!

littlemikey4 - I am varsity captain my THIRD year, you’re pathetic.

bamboozle - At my school, here’s how weighted GPA is calculated:

PreAP: 90-100 = 5.0-6.0
AP: 90-100 = 6.0-7.0

hmm without a doubt, your academic records are outstanding even for the Ivies: 4.0 GPA, 230+ PSAT, and numerous AP classes. However, I’m not noticing any distinguishable extracurricular activities as another member stated. Try to attend some prestigious summer camps or even enter some nationally recognized competitions like Intel, AMC12, ISEF, etc. So yeah if you can keep that GPA and get a perfect score on the SAT in addition to improving your ECs, then I don’t see how you can’t get into those schools you’ve mentioned. And of course, your family background will also help you quite a bit.

By the way, do you have a facebook? I’d be happy to add you as my “friend.” lol

i want to say reach but with that legacy of yours, HYP isn’t looking too bad for you. even with the 4.0 and even if you had a 2400, it doesn’t guarantee HYPS. i’d say brown and columbia are low low reach.
2.high match
3.high match

This is one of the most impressive academic records I’ve ever seen. Where did you end up going?
