So what do you guys think?

jaymanjay:

Assuming you are a California resident,
UCB/UCLA: Match

b u m p

you are 10 points shy of a perfect score? btw 4.7 IS NOT LOW! UC don't look at freshmen grades anyways

yep 10 points shy of perfect

so any chance at Harvard, Stanford, Yale, or Princeton?

My unweighted gpa is slightly low for IV League but i think my Extra-curricular is better than the most, so hopefully that will make up for the low GPA.

what do you guys think?

u should apply to them u do got a shot, u dont have anything to loose

stanford weighs the essays soooo much....
if your essay can make the adcom's eyes pop out out of 2,000 applicants, it'll get you places. but for sure, scores are not the only thing that get people into stanford

good luck

uhh any other suggestions? thoughts? COMMOOOON

all UCs are gauranteed (well, 99% for berk and 99.5% for LA)

get in at least one Ivy, i guess (good enough, right?)

essays are probably going to be the primary factor (btw, im doubting your essays are so "good," cuz you shoulda said they were "well"

anyway, whatever.. gl dude

"essays are probably going to be the primary factor (btw, im doubting your essays are so "good," cuz you shoulda said they were "well"

essays ARE good
wrote the essays well =p

so besides the essay, are my stats good enough for any IV league?

well i'd like to say first of all that it's ivy league b/c they are old universities, hence ivy (the plant)...not an acronym

I was also curious how you scored 5's on your ap's with those satII's

also what's the title of your book? I think if you were more specific on the field/area of that we could better assess your chances.

hopefully your ec's can overcome your low satII's/gpa which i think are glaring weaknesses...I agree w/ most people tho that if your essays are good you should get into at least one elite school

good luck!
