URM and Legacy at harvard won't help unless you have higher SATs

Lots of South Americans at my high school, they're not URMS. English is her second dlanguage, though.

I do have to agree though, if you really want to go to a US college, you need to apply to some schools that aren't such a big reach. Unless of course you're a development legacy (parents give millions).

from what you told us you are not an URM.

Dont apply as one as they will think you are trying to cheat your way to being admited and you will get turned down

URM are for people who need extra credit given to them because they are poor or they are black, native or hispanic etc etc etc. You had better condition then all these people you went to an IB School and your father went to Harvard so dont try to get their places or you will end up not getting yours.

URM status only applies to those residing in the US.

ur stats are fine as a alumni and international. Seeing that english is your second language, however, there are many international students with outstanding stats. Applying for financial aid will definitely not hurt at ivy leagues. princeton harvard and wharton are all need blind and treat internationals the same. good luck =P u should apply regardless of what peoople here say because u dont know ur chances until u see ur results :P

OK thank you everyone! I talked to the counseler at my school today and he said that I cannot apply as URM. I'll take my SATs again in October and I hope I'll get better results. My main doubt now if of applying to Harvard EA ou UPENN ED....

It would seem your chances are much better applying to Penn ED. Harvard still rejects most legacies and where your stats are now it would seem unlikely you would be accepted unless your parent is a very involved alum or a major donor.

I would also consider Penn College ED, its already a big reach. Wharton is a SUPER reach.

Hi, just to update my SAT2 scores (I had predicted them on my first post but they arrived today)

Math 2C - 730
Physics - 740
Spanish - 790

Sorry they actually were:

Math 2c - 740
Physics - 750
Spanish - 790

Anyone????

helpp!

Anyone?

I go to wharton right now and I was in the IB program too. My SATs weren't stellar or anything. I think you have a great chance at Huntsman ED. And then have Wharton ED be your fallback since Penn allows you to apply to Huntsman and have a backup school if you don't get in (either the college or wharton). Personally, I think you should give it a try especially if business is the path you would like to take. I think people can be a little difficult because of stats, but to be honest, I think your ecs count for a lot and so do your essays. If you can write essays that reveal something about you and gives the admissions people a little insight into who you are your stats won't be as large of a factor. But thats just my take. Good luck and if you have more questions please ask. Also, I think the amount of HL's you are taking is pretty badass, our IB program was still under development so Math HL wasn't even an option. I believe it is nowadays though.
