Chances at JHU RD?

<p>I know a million people post these, but...any help is appreciated.
Btw, this is what I said in my applications, but not necessarily what I want to do (e.g. recently, I've given good thought on becoming a doctor).</p>

<p>Major: 1) Engineering Mechanics 2) Environmental Engineering</p>

<p>SAT (best): 700 CR 720 M 730 W
SAT II: Bio 690 Math I 750 Math II 800 Chem 750
AP: BC Calc 5, Statistics 5, U.S. History 4</p>

<p>GPA: 3.6 (B+) - didn't qualify for Honor's Society</p>

<p>I'm one year advanced in math, so I'm already done with my math curriculum in school and Graph Theory is an independent study course I'm taking at a local community college with 8 other students also in my position.</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
Math Team: 4 years (now captain)
Free the Children - volunteer organization (4 years)
Chess Club - 4 years (now president)
Church deacon (3 years)
Wind Ensemble - 4 years
Math/AP Statistics Tutor - 3 years (different kids)</p>

<p>From the stats you posted, I think you have a decent chance.</p>

<p>Nobody will know for sure until you apply and get that letter back though ;)</p>

<p>Your GPA is definitely your weak point. But other than that I would personally say you would be admitted.</p>

<p>^^I agree that your GPA is your weak point. Maybe you just go to a difficult school? But you have a pretty good shot at JHU. Asian in engineering is pretty common, so you should really have a good essay that will distinguish you from the many other Asians that are also applying to engineering.</p>

<p>Good luck to you, tl339. I noticed that you posted at several other schools and we seem to have a couple overlaps, so maybe one day we will meet. We will see, I guess.</p>
