If your transcript explains you get 8 points added for AP classes, you are in pretty poor shape.

If your transcript doesn't show that, I'd say you have a shot, but not very great because of low test scores. I'd shoot for at least 30 on the next ACT.

My transcript does not explain that.

dsmo I asked this b4, but I don't think any1 answered it. I submitted my application already and its supposedly under review. However I had low SAT scores and an UW GPA of 3.6, but my EC's are really good..but I doubt Mich looks at them. Anyway, I'm taking ACT's this saturday...if I do well...can I send it to Mich? What would happen? I'm confused. Do they reconsider my app w/ the new test score or what?

Yeah, definitely have them send in your new scores. If you haven't been accepted yet, they should review your app again when they get the new scores. If you are deferred, they will probably sending you a letter saying they would like to see your new scores or first semester grades. I would send them in for sure if you are confident you have improved from what you sent with your app.

your transcript may not explain it but your counselor might have to include that information in your class profile for his/her reccomendation

Definitely, because that would be a "weighted" GPA then. If Michigan sees this and converts it to an unweighted GPA, I think you have a pretty low chance of getting in right now.

Well, even without the 7 point added to the honors and AP classes I still have A's. Don’t they convert the GPA, A=4, B=3, and so on???

You're in. Your GPA makes it nearly impossible for them to reject you.

Your 8th and 9th grade stuff won't count. If the 7-point bonus is never discussed on your transcript, you have near a 4.0 Michigan GPA. If your counselor puts that on the counselor report, I'd say your chances are diminished because it looks like it will drop your GPA significantly.

Your GPA doesn't really matter. Your school might just have inflated grades. A class rank would be much more telling. Anyone that says you're in because of your grades isn't getting the whole picture. Also, are you in or out of state?

He's OOS (Georgia).

I still think it would be very hard to reject an applicant with a 3.95 UM GPA (w/o the grade boosts).
