Chances at Michigan?

Hey! I live in CA and I’m currently a senior. I have a 32 composite score on my ACT and a 4.1 GP Weighted. What do you think is my chance at getting in? I heard that Michigan defers lots of students if they are out of state. Is this true?

I think it is prudent to have some other options that you like.

Acceptance is lower out of state (being a state school), probably wise apply other places just in case

What is your uwGPA? ACT 32 is right below admission average. Your chance would be below the OOS admission rate of ~20% (including RD). Whoever not admitted in the EA cycle, the are deferred. With such a low admission rate, most OOS students are deferred from EA (and rejected at the end). Even for in-state applicants, more than half are rejected. As they have reduced the number of EA admission in recent years and around half of the applicants apply EA, most of the EA applicants are deferred regardless of their state residence.

@jordanbrink25 I have exactly the same stats and was deferred from LAS. Have you received any updates?

Nope nothing.
