Chances at MIT? concerned about SAT verbal...

<p>Hello,</p>

<p>I am a senior who has just applied under MIT's early action option, and am concerned about my CR SAT and SAT II scores. My scores are as follows:
SAT I: 600 CR, 770 M, 720 Wr; 32 ACT (best combined subscores);
5 on AP German, 4 on AP US Hist.;
112.5 on AMC 12 (top in school);
SAT 2s: 760 Math II, 650 Chem, 700 Physics.
Live in Kansas...and am an Army Brat...
I am very involved in extracurricular activities (captain and letter in 3 sports), NHS pres., JROTC battalion commander, Science Club founder/pres., 2nd at State math, Eagle Scout, State Scholars' Bowl, Student Council representative, etc.
Summer activities: USMA SLS, Boys' State, JROTC summer camp, Valley Forge Leadership Camp.
I understand that I have a lot of ECs, but I'm not sure that my CR SAT and SAT 2 scores make me competitive.
What are your thoughts? Thanks.</p>

<p>Sorry man, but you better not get your hopes up for MIT. As I'm sure you know, it is insanely hard to get into. You seem like an intelligent guy, but you just don't have the stats for MIT.</p>

<p>112.5 AMC is not gonna help</p>

<p>i scored 120 on the AMC and 9 on the AIME , yes 210 combined index 7 points away from USAMO cut and they told me it's not gonna help at all</p>

<p>I have a 4.2 weighted GPA (4.0 unweighted) and am currently ranked second (soon to be top) of class (336 students).
Current courses: AP Calc, AP Physics, AP English, AP Art History, AP German VI, Psych., Army JROTC

<p>just got a 33 ACT: 27 Reading, 34 Math, 33 English, 36 Science...will that help? With my best subscores, I have a 34 ACT. Thanks</p>
