Chances at ND

Like most people here I really want to go to Notre Dame. I am going to be a senior this upcoming school year. I know this school is probably a reach. However, It would be great if I could get an idea of my admissions chances. I am also wondering if I should apply EA or RA.
Here are my stats:
High School size-800 in my class, middle class suburban and very competitive academically and athletically (one of the best sports programs in the state)
Live in Minnesota
ACT: 32 composite (34 math 33 english 31 reading 30 science)
GPA UW: 3.94
GPA W: 4.12
School doesn't rank but I am probably top 5%
Lowest grade A-
By senior year will have taken 7 AP's AP Bio (4), AP CalcAB (5), AP CalcBC (5), AP Composition, AP Chemistry, AP Physics B, AP Statistics. I've taken all of my schools hardest classes except for the history track (regular track).
EC's:
125+ hours of volunteer work (Junior - Senior) through my church and my communities park and rec.
School soccer team 9,10 captain (didn't make the team 11, 12 super competitve)
club soccer 1st grade - 12 grade
nordic ski team 10, 11, 12 hopefully Varsity next year
Link Leadership Crew (type of student government/leadership program)
Peace Leader (leadership position elected by teachers) - 11
Science Olympiad - went to state twice - 10, 11, 12
NHS - 12
Tennis team- 9
I think that sums it up for my EC's.
I plan to major in Biology or Chemistry. Just visited the campus last weekend, and it was amazing! The new Jordan science building was crazy.
Will get good teacher recomendations
My essay should be pretty good.

Maybe try to up the ACT a bit, but I think you definitely have a shot if you write an excellent essay.

My son had stats very similar to yours (32 ACT composite, 3.8 GPA) and he was rejected RA this year. My other son had stats very similar to yours, but with a 33 ACT composite and a 4.0 GPA, and he was admitted RA last year. :)

I believe you'll be competitive in the RA pool and average or below in the EA pool. If you are a minority or have legacy status, you're above average in the application pool already.

Retake the ACT as many times as you can, and protect your class rank. Your essays will be very important, and you might start workig on them right now.

Good luck!

By the way I am unfortunatley not a legecy. I'm Irish Catholic (last name Carroll).

Pool can't say what matters most I think it is a truly heartfelt essay. My D was accepted EA with a 31 ACT 1450 SAT top 2% of her class

haha, sorry, being irish won't matter. i think you have as good a shot as anyone, but in order to have a great shot get those scores up to a 34+. good luck!
