if you could chance ED at both Carnegie Mellon and Wake that'd be very much appreciated. (i dunno which one yet)

thank you very much

Emory - Reach
CMU - Reach
USC - Reach

bump for all schools stated in op

i forgot to mention, i have done a lot of comm service, which includes various projects of service to different causes/organizations. i've also taken a really rigorous courseload, too. it's not the highest, but it's the second highest (if that makes any sense; so like instead of getting a 100, you get a 90)

bump. and i forgot to mention, I'd be applying ED to H & SS at Carnegie Mellon

...bump...

well, GT only looks at math / english portions of the ACT, but if those are strong, then i would say you have a great chance of getting into GT. Sry don't know much about the others.

Math was a 32 and English was a 31. so that would be a 1400 sat.....

i think?

bump......how bout that yankee game!

bump for gtech, oxford of emory, emory, wisco, illinois, cmu (H & SS) edu, wake edu, and sc.

bump ...damn redsox

i'll bump this one, too, and say that i have a lot of comm. service to go with the extra currics too

ok...so your GPA is not really great. However you did well on the ACT I think you will probably get into most of those colleges. I am not familiar with Carnegie's admissions. But hey go for it.....right great essays and reveal something really unique about yourself, maybe like an obstacle you have overcome in your life. Good luck!

bump me back...thanks

Oxford of Emory-Reach
Emory-Reach
Carnegie Mellon-Reach
Southern Cal-High match/low reach
Georgia Tech-IN
Wake Forest-IN
Wisconsin-IN
Illinois-IN

So I would say Emory and Carnegie Mellon are reaches for you, but show them that you can do better than any kids that are applying. With your essay, show them that you are passionate about something...and that you're going to go far with whatever you're passionate about. If you show Carnegie that you really want to go there to study, it may be possible they may offer you admission. Take your standardized tests again, and do well.
Nothing's certain with admission. I've seen miracles and tragedies happen. Good luck.

Oxford-reach
Emory-reach
Carnegie Mellon-not enough knowledge to give you an accurate answer
Southern Cal-match
GA tech-in
Illinois-in
Wisconsin-in
Wake Forest-low match/in

i'm not familiar with all of the colleges, so i'll do the ones i know

Southern Cal - match
GA tech - safety
Wake Forest - High Safety/Low match
Oxford - reach
Emory - Reach

there you go! thanks for chancing me

ok a couple of things. 1. i'd be applying to the college of letters (or something like that) at all of those if they have them, or H & SS at CMU. number 2, isn't Oxford's admit rate like 64%, and avg. gpa a 3.5? is it really that hard to get into Oxford of emory? i'm kinda shocked b/c i'd think it's a bit of a secret.

or maybe i'm in CA, and all we hear about is usc, cal, and ucla.

i'll bump for my question

good to see my yanks have a pulse today
