chances at penn state?

okay so im an international student and im gonna apply to penn state for mechanical engineering this yr. i wanted to know if id get in.....

Stats:
sat1-1980(cr+m-1350)
sat subject tets-not given as yet(expecting 700+ in math level2 and chem)
academics-school doesnt have a gpa system but i have a 95.2% in my 10th grade but a 69% in my 11th grade(this is because my schools give out horrible grades and inspite of my 69% im in the top 5% of my schools students. the 10th grade exam was a national exam so it was not graded by the school but the national council)

Ec's:
4 years soccer
4 yrs tennis
3 yrs volleyball
a couple of MUN's
1st in national science olympiad in school

so please tell me if ill get accepted? :D

just a bump!!!

anyone???

Do you have any volunteer work or EC’s other than MUN and the Science Olympiad? I mean the Olympiad is a huge achievement in itself and the sports are great, but anything else?

volunteer work- not much
other ec’s-none that i can think of from the top of my head(so probably nothing significant)

Penn State doesn’t really care about ECs. 2/3 GPA and 1/3 SATs. Take a look at their bubble chart for admissions:

http://admissions.psu.edu/info/counselors/bubble_chart.pdf

Your 10th and 11th grades average out to 82 - equivalent to around a 2.7? Your 9th grades would be counted too, but it would be hard to bring a 2.7 up to a level high enough for the main campus. Find out what the actual GPA or % is that your school will send to colleges. But it seems you’d need @ 3.5 along with your 1980, especially for a competitive major such as engineering.

thanks sansserif, that definitely helped

International student+ 1350 SAT+ Top 5% rank. You are in for fall…

thanks xtreme power, thats really nice to hear :D
