ty for all the responses all, but:

bumpz0rs to the maxz0rz

And: Will the quality of my essays affect as much as the adcoms, etc. emphasize? (I have 710 writing... guess how skilled I am at writing :))

Your in everywhere, even if your essays are mediocre

Thats what i thought

I was responding to something on the previous page. But in response to your assurance, Habdragon, I have to say that although I agree that his chances are excellent there is not way of saying someone is 100% in anywhere (unless your parents contribute millions).

15 APs? Wow! I think you're in.

you are in everywhere

it's people like you that make us other stanford prospective undergrads feel like @#$%@#$%@#

and i thought my 2230 was cool.

I would be shocked if he got rejected anywhere

His score would put him among the top 20 black people in the country last year, and he has the grades to back it up

Hed have an excellent chance if he was asian.

ty for the comments everyone. i appreciate it much.

a lot of it is a little extreme

cmon. no way it's possible.

is MIT really that big a stretch though?

they look for the best minorities. It is definately not a huge stretch but definately not assured.

YOU ARE IN LIKE NO OTHER. You'll probably be taking my spot... :0

Yes, you really are among the top 20 black people in the country

it is actually not the top 20 it is more like the top 200. last year approx. 200 African Americans got over a 1500 or over on the old SAT last year. Accroding to some that translates to a 2250 new score (though there is some debate on this).

He got a 1530 on the old one (M + CR)

yes but that still isn't the top 20, it is the top 200. Being in this catagory as well I researched it thoroughly.

bumpz0rz :)

let's try the 18 day after bump

anyone?

i think you're in

the only rejection letters I can see you getting would be from schools using WUSTL tactics, where they think you won't enroll. (I just read a report showing how Princeton does this) But if Stanford is your first choice, and you're in EA, the rest should be easy

Affirmative action blows.

He still has as good a chance as anyone despite "affirmative action". 15 AP's upon graduation, are you kidding me? That's crazy. You average 4 AP's every year. Are you sure you're not from a really competitive school? The fact that your school can offer that many AP's and those levels of math says A LOT about your school. I actually know a handful of black people that have gotten over 1500/2250. A lot of them were at MITES, which FFX1619 should have been at. HEY are you from San Diego (619)?
