IHATESAT, I think u r being way too generous, the SAT is low and ranked below top 10%. EC's are good, that is a strong point.

i think hes in at Air Force as long as his PT test is competative

Bucknell- match, around 50% chance
Skidmore- safety
Pepperdine- safety
University of Richmond- realistic reach
ND- huge reach
BC- huge reach
Villanova- match

don't know about Washington and Lee University, Holy Cross, or Air Force Academy

Holy Cross u should be ok at, even tho they dont look at SATs in admissions anymore, if u have strong courseload u will be fine.

Air Force i think ur in at if u kick butt on the PT and get ur congressional nomination.

Villanova-match
Bucknell-Match

Thats all i can be sure about

thanks for the input...i was just wondering what i should do to increase my chances at some of these places? such as Richmond, Pepperdine and UND... i know i gotta bring up SAT's....and......anything else i can do in the immediate future?

if anyone has any specific info on the air force academy admissions process please PM me(i'm getting med exams and nominations ready now)...i must say the dodmerb has really got me confused....
thanks again

go to ur recruiter, he can help u out. My bro did the naval academy, he had a blue and gold officer give him his interview, then he just arranged his own interviews for congressional nom and arranged his own PT test with the school gym teacher

We visited Pepperdine (dd's combined CR and Math was 1200). We had a strong sense that she was NOT a very strong candidate for acceptance there with that score. Pepperdine was one of the schools that wasn't sure if or how they would use the writing portion of the new SAT. We did learn that this school puts a very strong emphasis on church activities and involvement. It is something they look for in applicants, and it is something that is expected to continue once enrolled. To be honest, I think Pepperdine is a reach for this OP, not a match (possibly reachable...not out of the question...but a reach).

anymore ideas on my chances?

IHATESAT you are being way too generous. for one thing, the SAT's COUNT. ESPECIALLY for rural students. Do you really think colleges are stupid and would think a person almost in the top 10% of his RURAL high school is as academically talented as a top 10% student at a suburban school? No... and before you say I am bashing these rural people, I am stating well known GENERALIZATIONS (Yes I may be wrong). If the OP did in fact score a 2100+ then I would reconsider my opinion.

That being said this guy is indeed a solid applicant to many of these schools. Those EC's, especially letters are impressive...although i might say, much easier to get then a city school. That FBLA vice president looks pretty good... did you win an award?

Skidmore (since you have your dad there)- Super Safety
Notre Dame- Super Reach
Boston College- Super Reach
Bucknell- Match
Pepperdine- Match
Air Force Academy- Reach (for anyone)

I am not trying to offend the OP, but come on Notre Dame >.< is definately not a shoe in. Lets be realistic guys.

You guys, just to inform you, Pepperdine's acceptance rate now is 29%. While they don't have a high SAT average, this college is absolutely not a safety. I would say a match-reach

As long as you write your essay about how John Kerry is a babykiller, you'll get into W&L. ;)

I really think you should add a real reach or two. None of your 3 self-proclaimed "reaches" are actually reaches, I think they're matches for you.

In my opinion, those are very big reaches for you as it is. I don't recommend you apply to more reaches. No offense to the above poster.

Why shouldn't he be able to add another reach? You never know untill you apply ...

As long as you have at least 2 safety schools alls well

yeah i agree with choclateluv88, i think i have enough reaches for the time being even though i'm pretty sure that my SAT will be at least 50 pts higher by november. ND,BC,USAFA, are my reaches (W&L probably is since i'm a liberal) thanks for the input...does anyone have anymore info on other schools with good business programs that may be matchs/slight reaches for me?

If i were to add Wake Forest to that list.....would that be a HUGE reach for me? or a slight one? does anyone think it could be a match?
