whyyy isnt any1 commenting!?

whaaat is the deal?! please help, ill give you $1!!! aha

Interesting EC's - you definately have a life. Any clue as to what majors you are interested in?

premedicine, with a major in finance and accounting

Yikes. Its going to be pretty challenging to get all your premed science courses in with a finance/accounting major.

I think your existing list looks pretty reasonable. Since one of the components of med school admissions is professor rec's, I am going to suggest looking at smaller schools where you would have plenty of opportunity to work with profs., and obtain a great education, and emerge with your GPA intact.

Roughly in order of most to least selective:

Skidmore (NY)
Wheaton College (MA)
Allegheny (PA)
Ohio Wesleyan (OH)

I think Ursinus and Juniata's undergraduates have good track records for gaining admission into medical school.

im pretty set with my list, if i research more schools my head might expload. But thanks for the suggestions.

What are your opinions about my chances at the schools i listed...particularly wake forest ED?

Honestly, I am not sure, but I just think you have a chance at the schools that will be harder to get into bcs of your ECs. ED at Wake- I would think you're going to get in, but don't count on my opinion, I would hate for you to be disappointed. I do think you will get in though. I had not read through your ECs in awhile until Ohiomom pointed them out. I reread them and they are really exceptional. Just make sure that you are not going to shoot too high bcs it is one thing to get in, but it is another to stay in. Just make sure that you will be comfortable with the workload before applying ED to Wake. Also make sure that you can afford it before going ED!

IMO, you have a shot at Wake because of your unusual and strong EC's and respectable GPA. You might want to send an additional rec from your EMS supervisor. However, its not a great enough shot that you can put off working on the rest of your apps. I would suggest completing and sending the likely admit apps first - UConn and Northeastern - most people think of something that could be improved after hitting the submit button.

Please take a look at Skidmore even if you are sick of college websites. A young friend graduated from there, and is now attending Case's med school. Her rec's and research helped a lot in the med school admissions process.

Northeast Mom, why do you wonder whether the work at Wake might be too hard? Is it a very tough school? Thanks.

im not too worried about the work load anywhere. I come from a school that really lays it down thick. Usually the students who worked hard in high school find the work in college is a breeze compared to what the teachers gave us in HS. For instance, my brother is at the Naval Academy now, he feels its still too easy. (He wasnt any different from me) He actually left Villanova because he felt the work was too easy lol...this is usually the case with alot of students from my HS...our HS is known for preparing students very well for college.

Thanks for everyones opinions though, anything else?

I will definatly check out Skid too.

Njmom, I am not speaking specifically about Wake. I am just saying that I feel one should consider the fact that it is one thing to get into a school, and another to succeed. I think if one's stats (esp. standardized scores bcs gpa and workload in hs varies so much) are on the lower end of middle or bottom 1/4 one may want to consider whether that school is a good choice. Many ppl opt to go to school where they are in the upper 50% or upper 33% so that they have a higher gpa for grad school. Grad schools would consider gpa and the school and program one attended. The most important thing I feel is to actually graduate. I would rather that my children go to a school where they are in the upper 1/2 academically than to go to a school where they are not on an even playing field to begin with, but that is just my opinion.

difficulty of work isnt a problem i assure u

Your ec's really are impressive; are you going premed?

I think your list is realistic, mostly matches. Wake Forest might be a slight reach, and Manhattan College and UConn are safeties. So I think you have enough matches, you have 5 imo. How about a couple reaches or reach/match, like Colgate, Bucknell, Boston College, Vanderbilt, NYU.

yess lol if i dont go pre-med i will be dissapointing alot of people after all the time ive put in...plus it would be a major dissapointment to myself...i want nothing more then to be a doctor

I was considering vanderbilt and bucknell but idk if i have the grades for it.

buuuummmpppp
