<p>Chance at:
Stanford
Georgetown
UPenn
Princeton
George Washington 8 year med program
UNC
Cornell
Columbia
UC Berkley
Harvard (why not?)</p>
<p>Should I apply for some scholarships to improve resume? My EC's are pretty med/bio oriented and I'm looking for competitions to sign up for.</p>
<p>Stanford - reach
Georgetown - low reach
UPenn - reach
Princeton - reach
George Washington 8 year med program - match
UNC - match
Cornell - reach
Columbia - reach
UC Berkley - high match
Harvard - reach </p>
<p>When I read your application, it was a little hard to tell that you were interested in med/bio. When I saw your app, it looked like you were more interested, and more accomplished, in debate/law/philosophy. There are some things for med/bio, but most of your ECs focused on UN/polisci/etc. I think you a fair chance at those schools, but keep in mind that a lot of kids who apply also follow your path - med/bio major while doing science research and debate.</p>
<p>Chance me back, please? <a href=“http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1517537-chance-me-hyp-brown-etc-greatly-appreciated.html”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1517537-chance-me-hyp-brown-etc-greatly-appreciated.html</a></p>
<p>Hey! Your scores, grades, and ECs are all very good–although I confess nothing stands out mightily to me. Nonetheless, you have a good chance, especially if you come across as very passionate about the med/bio field in your essays/recommendations.</p>
<p>Thus I agree with timtim159 more or less except I would say that Cornell is more of a low-reach/high-match.
Good luck! Could you chance me in return? <a href=“http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1517874-summer-chances-yale-brown-etc.html”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1517874-summer-chances-yale-brown-etc.html</a></p>
<p>Chances Profile</p>
<p>Strengths
You are overall a fantastic applicant. You are very strong academically, with well defined EC’s that, as far as I can tell, demonstrate your passion for two things: biological and anatomical sciences and international relations. Your athletics help construct a picture of you as a successful, engaged, and well-rounded student.</p>
<p>Weaknesses
You don’t have any significant weaknesses, per se, but i hope you will be on varsity senior year in all of your sports, as that would be a nice touch. I guess one criticism would be, as timtim stated, your involvement in debate and politics outshines your bio-med interests to a degree. This shouldn’t be a significant issue, as you are accomplished in both disciplines, but make sure your essay and recommendations emphasize your interest in bio-med in order to get the point across.</p>
<p>Overview
You are a very strong applicant and you have, to a certain degree, done all you really can do to construct an impressive application. That being said, you are applying to a lot of VERY competitive schools, so i recommend you shave down that list and replace some of these schools with more realistic safeties.</p>
<p>Chances
Stanford University- Normal acceptance rate around 5%, but your demonstrated interest in both bio-med and international affairs (two of stanford’s favorites) boost your acceptance chance significantly to 20%. I would reccommed you apply SCEA to further your chances.
Georgetown University- Normal acceptance rate around 18%, but your interest in international affairs (if you emphasize it in your georgetown supplement) could bring you to 35% acceptance chance.
University of Pennsylvania- Normal acceptance rate around 12%, i would give you a 20% acceptance chance.
Princeton University- Normal acceptance rate around 8%, I would give you a 15-20% acceptance chance.
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill- Normal acceptance rate around 26%, but for out of state (assuming you are) it is around 16%, so i would give you a 25% acceptance chance.
Cornell University- Normal acceptance rate around 16%, I would give you a 25% chance.
Columbia University- Normal acceptance rate around 6.5%, I would give you a 15% chance.
University of California at Berkley- If you are out of state, this school has an acceptance rate of 6%, so I would give you a 10-15% acceptance chance.
Harvard- Normal acceptance rate around 6%, i would give you a 10-12% chance.</p>
