I think my pride has prevented me from registering to this site earlier, but considering how interesting it has been for me to lurk CC, I figured I might as well ask for some input too, while trying to give other people some input as well :|

Not to mention that acceptances for schools are soon and it is absolutely nerve-racking.

I am an asian male in high school. I have a 4.4634 W GPA, a 3.6182 UW GPA, a 33 ACT (36 mat, 28 sci), a 2,130 SAT (710 math), and SATII scores of 770 in mathematics II, and 780 in Physics.

I've been accepted to UIUC and UMich engineering, causing me to get something of a college high for the past couple weeks; I have thus been briefly entertaining the idea that I might actually get into some of my reach/dream schools.

Then I remembered that Berkeley is still really really hard to get into...

Here are the things I think I have reason to be concerned about:
-I have only one EC (Chess)
-I transitioned badly into high school, and had what I think in hindsight was an episode of mild depression in junior year. So I have two very mediocre years, and two straight A years...
-I was looking at older CC threads and UIUC stats, and it seems that their acceptance rate is very high (70+%?!) o_o (also, forgot to mention, I'm in-state for UIUC). And UMich site says their rate is some 41% of applicants. Someone mentioned about how the high average GPA and ACT scores for these schools deter many people from applying and so they have a surprisingly high acceptance rate. The same does not appear to be true for Berkeley, from what I can tell.

Berkeley is my dream school, so any input would be truly appreciated.
