Chances at UC San Diego and UC Irvine

<p>Hello everybody,
I just finished my Junior year in high school and I've been looking at going into UC San diego or Irvine and was wondering what my chances are.</p>

<p>GPA Fresh: 4.0
Sophomore: 4.0
Junior: 4.2</p>

<p>SAT: 1760 (510 writing, 560 reading, 690 math)</p>

<p>Going to retake SAT or ACT and I still need to take my SAT 2's</p>

<p>Honors classes:
-Honors geometry
-honors algebra 1-2
-Honors Spanish 3-4</p>

<p>AP classes:
-AP biology (Junior year)
-(Planning on taking AP calc., AP spanish, and maybe AP gov. next year)</p>

<p>Extra Curricular Activities:
-Basketball for 3 years (not varsity)
-Volleyball for 2 years (not varsity)
-National honors association (1 year)
-Volunteered are local library
-YMCA youth corps (1 year)
-Going to join more clubs next year</p>

<p>Awards:
-Sundevil of the month, bronco of the month, wolf of the month (I went to 3 different high schools)
-Sports awards every year for both volleyball and basketball</p>

<p>I'm also hispanic</p>

<p>I have about 50 hours of community service right now, but im going to get on that over the summer and year senior year, so hopefully something about 150?</p>

<li>I think you should be good to go, if you can raise your SATs to about 1900-2000</li>

<p>Assuming you're instate and get your SAT up, i would say
Irvine=match
SD=high match/low reach</p>

<p>Do you guys think if I ended up getting in the 1800s on my second sat that my chances would be affected a lot?</p>

<p>admission to those colleges are point based. raising to the 1800s will help, but it wont affect your chances a lot. try to aim for 1950+</p>
