haha wow I forgot to post my grades. What an idiot! 3.7 gpa and top 10% of my class. By the way I have alumni relations as my brother attended Mich.

You have a good chance for Mich, but you better apply ASAP since they are rolling admissions. If you haven't submitted your application, then your chances decrease as each day goes by.

Do you live in California? If you don't, then say bye-bye to UCLA, UCB and UCI.
USC, on the other hand, is private, so it would be a good match.

UPenn is a reach.

I'm not familiar with Boston Univ's standards.

UCLA: Slight Reach (out of state)
UCB: Slight Reach (out of state)
UCI: Safe Match (out of state)
Michigan: Match
UPenn: Slight Reach
USC: Match
BU: Safe Match
Rutgers: Safe Match

When did you apply to Michigan? If you applied in October, you are as good as in. If you applied in November, you have a good chance, but not 100%. If you applied in December, you chances are still ok, but not great. If you apply in January, you have a 50/50 chance.

As for the other schools, here's how I would rate your chances:

UCB - Reach/match
UCLA - Reach/match
UCI - Safety
Penn - Reach/match
USC - Match
BU - Safety

I thought UPenn would be a major reach with those SAT scores and GPA. Am I wrong Alexandre? Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong in thinking this.

FutureMD and Fearfullliving, a 1480 SAT score and 3.7 GPA puts you in the "reach" bracket along with most applicants. Such applicants can only differentiate themselves with their essays and ECs. So it really depends on how the University perceives you through the application form.
