Oh and what other UC’s could I get into?
Senior year is a full course load and I will have to get A’s in all my classes. Its not an option to slack off yet.

UCSC should be no problem for your grades.Their latest acceptance rate was 57% and among the UCs they are on the lower side of #s of applicants so there’s a lot less competition as it is opposed to UCSB and such with 60k+ applicants.
In concern of other UCs I would suggest trying to improve your SAT or ACT score. Those scores are good enough to exceed UCSC averages, but schools like UCSB have averages of 1800+, it could be a blemish on your application if you don’t have a better score.
My last recommendation would be while you have a good amount of Extracurriculars, make sure you show the leadership roles or try for em in Senior year. Being a member of the club is great, being at the top of it is always better in their eyes.
Good luck, I’m right there with ya up here in the Bay Area (UCSC is 15 miles away from my door). College apps have me scared, but I’m sure we’ll all make it ya know?

Quick question why would you stay in an AP class when you got an F first semester? Anyways calculate your UW/W GPA because no one is doing that for you. Also it’s USC - University of Southern California it is not a UC.

Scale: <a href=“How to Convert (Calculate) Your GPA to a 4.0 Scale – BigFuture”>College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools;
Scale only goes to 1 decimal point. Anything with a (-) to 2 decimal points is .67. So an A- would be a 3.67. Anything with a (+) aside from an A+ ends with a .33. So a B+ would be a 3.33

@SvFalcons74‌ that is not true in the least. OP’s GPA is probably less than 3.7 considering the OP got 6 Cs, 1 D and 2 Fs. OPs test scores aren’t even in the range. Do some research first before you try to help others.

http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/docs/USCFreshmanProfile2013.pdf</a></p>

Stats of those enrolled
Mean GPA: 3.73 (9-11 grades UW)
Middle 50% SAT Composite: 1960-2190
Middle 50% ACT Composite: 29-33

Based on the grades you listed considering you didn’t specify if any of those grades was an A-, B+, C- etc. Your UW GPA is probably around a 3.3 ish.

Just looked at one of your previous posts.
Were you lying on your other post because you said your ACT score was a 34 and here it is a 25. That’s a 9 point difference.
On your other thread you also said that your SAT score was a 2050 and here it is a 1750.

@tola2015 Actually no. Its UCSC University of California Santa Cruz.

You have to get no lower than a C in your A-G required classes for the UC’s, so your F’s in AP Art History and D in Spanish 2 disqualify you from using these classes for the UC requirements. Are you retaking them??? If not, you do not qualify to apply to any UC.
See link: <a href=“University of California Counselors”>University of California Counselors;

You also need to calculate your UC GPA: <a href=“Cal State Apply | CSU”>Cal State Apply | CSU;
Also please state which SAT/ACT scores are correct and repost.

My apologies for not even realizing there was a UC Santa Cruz. Regardless you are still on the lower end. (10-11th grade GPA)

@svfalcons74 are you sure becasue everyone on this site is saying I don’t have a very good chance?

@shadelz: No one on this website can tell you that you will definitely get in since none of the posters are admission officers. All we can do is take an educated guess based on your STATs and the STATs posted by the schools. I have also been through the UC/CSU admission cycle these past 2 years with both my sons, so during that time I did obtain a lot of helpful information. We are only trying to give you a realistic view.
I did you a favor and calculated your UC/CSU GPA using the grades you listed which comes out to a UC GPA weighted at 3.48 and unweighted at 3.28. If you look at the UCSC admission profile for Freshman 2014, the average UC GPA was 3.82. You will find that GPA is weighed more heavily than SAT/ACT scores so you are on the low side of being a competitive applicant. If you take a look at the UCSC common data set: http://planning.ucsc.edu/irps/OFFICE/cds_2013-14.pdf</a> (page 10) only 17% enrolled Freshman had GPA’s from 3.25-3.49. You may have a chance, but most of the posters are saying do not count on it and look at other schools where your STATs would be above the 50th percentile. You would also have to address your 1 D and 2 F’s on your transcript. Go ahead and apply and prove us wrong, just add some good safeties to your list.
