I’m from North Carolina, so I can say that of the three schools UNC will be the hardest to get into(since you are out of state). You have great stats and scores that would be competitive for all schools, however, your ECs are a little lacking. I would recommend you take the summer to volunteer and maybe intern for local businesses that you are interested in. If you can make your application different from others and maybe even a little personal, I think that would give you your greatest shot at these schools. Good Luck!
@beezkneez1
Thanks for the advice! So do u think that I would have an easier time getting into wake forest than into UNC Chapel Hill?
@FLBoy4994 Yes, much easier. Just curious—do you know what Wake Forest is like? It is very different from UNC, so I’m surprised you’re applying to both in such a small list. I have a lot of friends at WF. The students there are generally very wealthy. 22% of students are in the top 1% income bracket. A lot are from the Northeast. There is also a huge greek-life influence. Just wanted to make sure you knew those things.
@ceilingroofgoat
I do know these things about wake. One thing I have some concerns about is the dominating Greek life as I dont know if a fraternity would be a good fit for me. Do u have any insight into their fraternities?
Also I’m mostly applying to both because I’ve ruled out northesast cause it’s too far away from Florida for me personally and I’m kind of limited into options in south. Here’s all of the colleges I may/most likely be applying to if u could chance me for them:
UF
Wake (regular or ED)
unc (early action)
Virginia (early action)
FSU
UCF
Which one of these do u think would be the best for economics? Do u know of any good options in the south of colleges with good Econ departments? I’ve looked into wakes and can’t find a whole lot on how good it really is. Thank you so much.
