Chances at UGA Honors program (maybe a better school?)

<p>Ok I don't want to shoot too high but I think I might make it into this program with my stats.</p>

<p>I am a junior at walton high school the best in all the state of georgia.</p>

<p>In 9th grade I took:
Biology honors Grade: 92 92
Algebra I Grade: 96 97
9th grade lit Grade: 92 90
Latin 1 Grade: 95 96
Honors Geograhpy Grade: 94 96
Band Concert II and then Symphonic II Grade: 95 97</p>

<p>(awful year) In 10th grade I took:
Chemistry Honors Grade: 85 76
Algebra II honors Grade: 82 70
Honors American Lit: Grade: 88 82
Latin II: Grade: 94 92<br>
AP world history: Grade: 88 91
Band Symponic II and then Concert 1 Grade: 97 96</p>

<p>I made a 4 on the World History AP Exam.</p>

<p>This summer I took PE Grade: 98</p>

<p>(right now) In 11th grade I took:
Honors physics Grade: 85
(the non honors Precalulus) Adv algerbra and tri Grade: 93
Honors Brit Lit Grade: 91
AP US history Grade: 93
Honors Latin III Grade: 96<br>
Health Grade: 93</p>

<p>10 years of piano: I am up to grade 7 in the ABRSM Pratical exams
Grade 1: Merit
Grade 2: High Merit
Grade 3: Merit

Grade 6: Pass </p>

Grade 2: Merit
Grade 3: Distinction

<p>I am a Leo Director in the Chinese-American Leos of Atlanta (commuity service club the teenager form of the Lions club)
I also have a leadership position in Commuity Outreach, I help out on Elementry schools teaching kids how to do math and reading.
I have about 110 hours of community service and counting.</p>

<p>I am in the Debate Team Secretary and will be president next year.
I have been to about 7 debate tourments and have placed in 2 of them.
2 Quarterfinalist positions</p>

<p>I made a 650 on my verbal and a 610 on on math in the SAT.</p>

<p>To be honest your chances aren't that great for honor, as the average sat is 1410 and 4.1 weighted (i think). You're probably in at UGA though, just not for honors.</p>

<p>I live in East Cobb and Pope has better SAT scores and everything else. Now, your chances are slim for the UGA honors program because there are so many more applicants that are more qualified.</p>

<p>Walton is not the best hs in GA, sorry to bust your bubble. So, anyways, I think that you have 0% chance at the honors program, and a decent one at UGA in general.</p>

<p>Sorry Walton isn't the best high School in Georgia....by any stretch of the imagination...I mean Brookwood might be better than them..But I think you have a really good shot at getting into UGA but not the honors program....your grades and your SAT are too low...sorry. BTW- I know a guy with a 1330 SAT that didn't get into UGA...</p>

<p>I think you need to raise the SAT score. It will help tremendously.</p>

<p>Honors is a good program if you live in Georgia.</p>

<p>Walton is the best high school in GA, it has been ranked by newsweek. But in reality there is no best high school in GA, unless you want to go by rankings.</p>
