I’ve taken a majority of the APs offered. Sophomore year we are only offered AP World, and there were too many kids and only one section, and I ended up being unlucky and could not take the class. The only other APs I didn’t take were Bio and Chem, but generally those are senior courses and I’m doing AP Physics. We have to take the regular/honors science classes because of the Regents in NY, so there’s only so much room in our schedules. I’d say I have one of the toughest schedules because I’m taking APs in each core subject (whereas a lot in my school are focusing on math/science only).</p>
<p>Edit: Forgot to mention I’ve taken exclusively honors classes in the core subjects where no corresponding APs were offered. If we weighed grades my GPA would be higher relative to my classmates, but that’s not the case (and it’s also not who I’m competing against in admissions).</p>
