Hey everyone,

In addition to the schools in the thread title, I'm also applying to Cornell and Dartmouth. However, I know how random those admissions are so input on those is optional.. UMich and Northeastern were EA, everything else RD.

Scores and Stats
- GPA (U): 3.78
- GPA (W): My high school doesn't weigh grades, can anyone point me to a good site to figure this out?
- Class Rank: Unreported, most likely top 10%
- SAT: 1560/2300 (CR 760, M 800, W 740)
- ACT: 35
- SAT 2: Lit. 720, Math 2 800, US Hist. 740
- AP: Lang. 5, US Hist. 4

My senior year schedule is composed of 4 APs and a few college classes:
- AP Physics C
- BC Calc
- AP Macro
- AP Com. Sci.
- English through Syracuse Project Advance (I intend to take the AP Lit. exam although this class does not prep me specifically for it)
- A political science introductory class and Latin class through my local SUNY school

ECs
- Running(!): I've done XC for 3 years, indoor and outdoor track for four. I made the varsity squad during outdoor my sophomore year and have been a fixture since. This is my main focus
- Outing Club: Go on hiking, canoeing, and ski trips, orienteering, ultimate frisbee, and other outdoor activities
- Environmental Science Team: Basically an environmental advocacy club. We've done fundraisers for local environmental organizations and run a school composting program for the school garden
- Chess Club: This one seems pretty self-explanatory. We play chess and go to tournaments to get pounded by home-schooled chess whizzes

Honors/Awards
- Team Captain: Got this title at the start of this XC season
- Coaches' Award: Awarded by my coach for leadership and sportsmanship
- National Latin Exam Gold Summa cum Laude: Highest level on the exam, got this in 10th and 11th grade
- Foreign Language Department Certificate of Merit: I'm pretty sure this was awarded to half my class, but I was happy to get it nonetheless
- National Honor Society
- National Merit Commended Scholar
- Around 100 hours of community service through my parish
- Tutored younger students in Global and US History in 11th and 12th grade

Essays/Recs
- My common app essay is about how ultimate frisbee has shaped me; I thought it was solid, but who knows

My recommendations are coming from:
- Latin Teacher: have had him 3 years, I anticipate a good rec
- English Teacher: had her in 9th and 11th grade, she told me she wrote about my growth as a person and writer over that time period
- Additional rec from my coach: Seems to like me, but you can never tell with coaches
- Counselor: Should be excellent, I've had a great relationship with her

Additional
I moved from an inner city school district to a rich suburban school district prior to my freshman year. The former was ranked worst district in the area, and the latter consistently topped these rankings. Change was interesting and my grades suffered a bit, and the school is very competitive, but I feel like I've adjusted pretty well.

That's about it. I bet it was hell to read, but if you suffered through it and left your thoughts, I'd really appreciate it. I wrote this looking for more input than my counselor and my parents, since it's nice to hear negative input every once in a while. Also, if you would like me to chance back, just link to your thread and I'd be happy to return the favor.
