Chances at UMich, Georgetown, BC, Northeastern, BU (Very Lengthy/Deliberate)

UMich (EA)- match
Northeastern (EA)- low match/ safety
Cornell- reach (your GPA isn’t great for Cornell, but I think you have a decent shot.)
Dartmouth- far reach (sorry bud, but nobody on here knows how tough Dartmouth is. I had a friend who got rejected with a 2250 and a 4.0. It will be nearly impossible to get in with that GPA)
Georgetown- low reach (I would put high match but they’re so sporadic with their choosing)
BC- safety (if you don’t get in with that SAT score I will drive a tank with you and bust down their admissions office door to demand an answer)
BU- safety (it’s BC but less difficult to get into and uglier…)

might also look at Holy Cross and Tufts both with very good academics. Holy Cross has JAN15th application due date and is need-blind for admissions(meets 100% demonstrated financial aid).

Thanks for the input!

@arswan hopefully we won’t have to resort to a tank, but that proposition will certainly make a rejection from BC more manageable.

@par I visited HC and Tufts last year over April break. In both cases, the location didn’t really do it for me. They were both on my radar however. Just a matter of taste, I guess.

I’ll keep this updated.

Unsure if anyone is interested, but I said I’d post my results and I never got around to it:

UMich (EA) - Accepted
Northeastern (EA) - Accepted
BU - Accepted
BC - Accepted
Cornell - Rejected
Dartmouth - Rejected
Georgetown - Rejected

It was more or less what I expected, though I thought Georgetown might come through. I ended up choosing Northeastern, as they offered me a solid amount of merit aid and showed extreme interest in having me at their school (Honors Program, Global Scholars Program). I’m extremely excited for college and so happy that I’m a husky.

If any juniors (or younger) want to talk about the process, I’d be happy to! Shoot me a pm.
