Chances at UNC Chapel Hill?

Hi I was just wondering if anyone who is going to UNC or has it accepted would have any insight on my chances of getting in.
-I got an 1810 on the SAT and am taking it again in October
600 math, 620 Critical Reading, 590 Writing
- 4.0 unweighted GPA, >4.25 GPA( not sure how much it has gone up since last year)
- I did not take an APs last year but I took all honors except for one class. Next year I am taking 3 APs though.
- I will also have 2 very good recommendation letters as well.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

What are your extra curriculars like? And are you in state?

I am out of state and my EC are
-Assistant for Allied Softball team (kids with special needs
-Key Club
-Habitat for Humanity club
-Captain of High School hockey team and 5 other club teams over the past 7-8 years.

I’ve also been very interested in medicine and have shadowed doctors at local hospitals.

I assume you’re a rising senior.

I’d say UNCCH would be a mid reach for you.

Your GPA is strangely high, which doesn’t match up with your SAT at all.

The lack of rigor is really going to hurt you. UNCCH is extremely competitive out of state and although they place a bit of an emphasis on GPA, that SAT is going to hurt you. Bring that up and you will stand a good chance as an applicant with a 2100+

Does your school rank? Is it based on W of UW GPA?

Thanks for the info. My school does rank but I won’t know that until around October

I agree with BoundForBoson.
Your GPA is good and your EC’s aren’t bad either. Being captain of your team is leadership and looks good on your application. It’s really competitive to get into UNC out of state. There’s tons of applicants with good GPAs and SAT scores. What’s going to get you into the school is unique extra curriculars (with leadership) that show your personality and what you have a passion for. Also your essays are the other thing. They show your personality and your passions and allow the admissions people to see if you’ll positively add to their school. Your personality is what will set you apart from all the applicants because theres a few thousand applicants for a few hundred spaces allotted for out of staters
