I was going to apply to Rochester for a while, but I had a lower SAT and a much higher gpa and about the same rank (actually almost identical), weak ECs as well, but I think you'll get in. If anything, the math2c doesn't look so good.

How does the engineering program at University of Rochester stack up against school of its caliber?

What kind of engineering? There optics engineering program is excellent, and what's it's known for, but it def. doesn't suck at the other disciplines

How about Mechanical Engineering

Also is the Early Decision at U of R significantly higher than regular decision?

the 740 sat 1 math does not go too well with the 570 math 2c. Especially since most students do very well on this particular test.

If you really want to attend Rochester I suggest that you apply ED. The acceptance stats of ED vs RD do not differ much but if you are a qualified candidate (you are), your chances are pretty good.

Did you demonstrate interest?

I already got the Kodak Young Leaders Award so in order to get that $24000 scholarship and i already applied early decision.

Thank you very much, but i have another question. Does it matter that you were born in another country and moved here 7 years ago and had to go through ESL and learn English here. Is that considered at all?

TCNJ is not a safety at all

if your OOS, its a reach

match if in state

RU is a match if OOS, as is PSU

BTW you have a decent shot at rochester

as u can see from my profile, i am from NJ, so doesn't that make Stevens Tech, Rutgers New Brunswick, and TCNJ safeties?

no replies? c'mon i know u want to :)

TCNJ is a reach because your not top 10%

Stevens is a match

RU is a lower match

how about BU, Ga tech, UMich Ann Arbor, and Lehigh, btw i want to major in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering
