Chances at University of Virginia?

Toph: I truly don't know. Try calling, call and call again after that until you get your questions answered.

Nahrafsfa: What format/how did you send your mid-semester grades?? How did you do this semester, that is, how good did you feel about sending them? Thanks.

Well Dean Roberts said that the recommendation was/would be added to my record and didn't respond to the other stuff, so I'm guessing it won't affect me, I was just a little paranoid I guess. It's unfortunate that people do forge stuff, and since people do in fact forget documents sometimes, I feel like I do have to worry about being falsely accused.

Also, 2tired, I sent in midterm grades. I just made a form and had my profs write the grades on in, sign it, and date it. I typed up the course names and printed profs names.

BigPackFan... Congrats on the VT acceptance.

BigPackFan, where are you from? I haven't heard anything yet and I'm a Virginia resident.

One more thing BigPack. Did you find out by email or snail mail?

well basically, I'm going to send out a form with exam grades and quiz/homework averages on them, and include how many percent of my final grade they count towards. I'm gonna take this to each of my professors and ask them if they think my format of grade calculation is agreeable, and then ask em to sign it for me...
It's gonna be like

Class Instructor Percentage Points Letter grade Credit hours

Then under that I"m going to make a chart for each class seperately. and since these are midterms I'm going to try and detail it out to show that there's a good chance my letter grade will remain the same for the rest of the semester.

My college grades are what I"m depending on to get me in. I have a 4.0 so far...and my number grades are looking good so....I"m hoping i can keep them up

I'm actually going down to UVa today (mainly to check out the arch-achool and campus...I only live about 1.5 hours away). Do you think it would be worth my effort to stop in and see the dean? If so, what do I do? Just waltz right in there? Any help would be great, thanks!

I am faxing my mid semester grades because I want them to get there immediately....there wont be a problem with them thinking that it was forged if it was faxed??? I just cant trust snail mail

i scheduled an appt. about 2 or 3 days beforehand...sooo yeah

Well I'm just gonna send an unofficial report...and expect the commitee to take my word for it...I mean...I'm sure they'll accept it...If they're forged then they'll find out at the end of the semester and they can easily reverse a decision if they find out you lied....so I'm pretty sure they'll take yer word for it on this one...Just include a pice of paper w/ your email addy on it and ask them to send you something if they'd like official copies mailed

"i scheduled an appt. about 2 or 3 days beforehand...sooo yeah"

Thanks, i guess

Let us know how it goes buckeye.

i got my Virginia Tech acceptance through the mail not online ( I don't know where you could check on VT's website). I finished and sent my application in early January if that has any bearing on when you get accepted. I am not going to go there if i get into UVa or North Carolina State. I am also a VA Resident.

Well, maybe that explains why I haven't received anything yet. I sent my app in around the middle of February. And yeah, I don't know where I could check online or if that's even a possibility.

Good luck with your other 2 choices!

"Let us know how it goes buckeye."

Well it was my first time to UVa...and WOW, what a beautiful campus (I expected nothing less). I was pretty amused at the architecture school however. It was tucked away behind the frat houses on Rugby Rd. and was quite a hideous building (kind of ironic). Everything about the campus (and C'ville) was wonderful...great college town.

OMG my mom told me she received an envelope from UVA today from the admission's office...She rushed it to W&M...did anyone get a letter or something today?

wmrocks, when did you submit your application? Last year the earliest I heard they sent transfer acceptance letters was about April 15th. I'm not expecting to see anything until late April.

Good Luck!

hey wmrocks, was it a letter or a thick envelope? Not to sound like a stick in the mud, but could it have been something about residency like other people have received?

When I applied last year they waited until the DAY of May first to send out the decisions.... however, it would be pretty awesome if they spared us the misery this year.
