UF is a high reach. Your GPA is too low and you’ll not have a chance to improve it before the Nov 1’st deadline (and Dec 1st deadline for the self-reported academic reporting, SAR).

FSU is a reach/high match.
The academic profile of the middle 50% of freshmen accepted in 2013 at FSU was:
3.9-4.7 weighted GPA; 26-30 ACT composite; 1730-1960 SAT total

Raising your ACT score will help, and it may help compensate a bit for your low GPA. Neither is currently in the middle 50% range. FSU has two applications deadline dates, Oct 16, with decision available online on December 16, 2013. The second date is January 15th, 2014 with decision available on March 19th. If you apply before Jan 15th, you may be able to use your first semester grades to raise your GPA.

UCF is a match/low reach
Your GPA is a little low, as is your ACT(which is in the middle 50% range). .
The average ACT is 27 and GPA is 3.8. Below is a break down by GPA range:
Percent who had GPA of 3.75 and higher 57.1%
Percent who had GPA between 3.50 and 3.74 29.3%
Percent who had GPA between 3.25 and 3.49 9.3%
Percent who had GPA between 3.00 and 3.24 3.5%

UCF uses rolling admissions, so it is possible to have them take into account your grades in your senior year (for the first semester). This may help raise your GPA.

USF is Match/low reach. It’s very similar to UCF. USF-St. Pete is an exception to this, as you would view them(USF-St Pete) as a safety.

Improve your ACT and your GPA and you have a decent chance at UCF/USF. FSU will be a reach, but you may still get in. Your EC’s and such will also help your chances at all three schools.

You still may want to pick out a safety school. Any of the other State Universities could be viewed as safeties (UWF, FAU, FIU, FGCU, FAMU, etc.).

Good Luck!
