Hey I just finished my junior year and was wondering what my chances were at Virginia Tech, Clemson and UGA. I am a resident of Virginia and am not sure what I want to study, most likely something science based, possibly pharmacy. I have taken honors courses throughout my high school career as well as two AP classes. I plan to take community college and AP classes for the most part of my senior year.

4.33 Weighted GPA

taking ACT this month, what should I aim for to have a good chance?
extracurricular: newspaper (Op-Ed Editor), Interact club, SODA, NHS, Writing center tutor, math center tutor

Your GPA is impressive, way to go. You being from instate, is almost a guarantee already with just that GPA alone. But, with those grades I’d expect your ACT to be at least a 27…if not higher. I’d consider almost an almost guaranteed in to ALL of those schools you mentioned

*I’d consider an almost guaranteed in(sorry about the iPhone mess up)

Tech should be no problem for a GPA like that. As for the ACT, your mentioned schools all accept averages of 25-30, and you’ll likely score in the upper spectrum of that if not higher. You’ll still have fall to take it again, and as long as its up there, you should be in for all three!

With that GPA I’m pretty sure you can apply for UVA and have pretty good chances of getting in. I heard UVA values GPA and state standardized testing highly so I wouldn’t see what’s the harm in trying out for UVA. But chances at VT look good~
