Chances at Wake Forest if I cannot interview?

Today, I went online to schedule my interview for Wake Forest, about 3-4 weeks in advance. And then, in red text, the page says the last day to schedule one was yesterday, 12/1, just my luck...they're completely full now (which is frustrating; I feel like you basically have to interview to get in and they don't seem to open more spots?). So, in general, if I don't interview, does this affect my chances of getting in at Wake? I know the interview seems integral to the application process.
Here are my stats:
3.81 UW, 4.5 W GPA, will have taken 8 APs by end of high school
2180 SAT and 770 Spanish Subject Test
AP Gov (5), AP World (3), AP Spanish (5), AP English (4)
I go to a big school (1800), was President of Spanish Honor Society, Captain of field hockey, Editor for yearbook staff, I tutor, went on a foreign exchange to Spain last summer, in choir, and have spent 2 summers at an overnight leadership program.
Honors: Spanish Honor Society, Ntnl Honor Society, Perfect Attendance, National Academic Squad, AP Scholar with Honor
Essays and recommendations (especially) should be good, I'm pretty good at writing.
Ugh. Do I still have a reasonable shot at Wake? AND, should I explain that I went to schedule one but they were full, or will that just make me look late?

Wake is one of those schools that lists level of applicant interest as “considered” as opposed to important or very important. There are other ways to express interest than an interview. You can visit the campus, sign up for a tour, speak to any AOs you run across, etc. If you cannot make it to campus, you can phone in and ask questions of the AOs about the parts of the school that interest you; ask to speak to an u/g in your major. You can write in your essay about some aspect of the school that attracts you.

@jkeil911 gave you good advice on other ways to express interest. I’d recommend you not explain that you tried to schedule an interview at the last minute; it makes you look less than committed to the school or just not on the ball. Your stats look good for Wake, so you should still have a reasonable shot at admission. Good luck!

@britbratg‌: Please don’t explain. The 1 December interview request deadline isn’t new, is it? I’d bet that policy has been specifically delineated on Wake’s website throughout the entire 2014 admissions cycle. Accordingly, you have no one to blame, other than your own failure to assimilate Wake’s procedural requirements with care. Explanations often seem to be excuses, and you’re far better of remaining silent about your gaffe.

I believe that an interview in required. At this point, you may have missed your chance to apply to Wake. If you have not done so, call admissions and tell them that you missed the deadline and ask them if you can still apply.

Maybe say that your internet was down for the last 2 weeks? worth a try  but call them and ask if you can still apply or if there is a way you can sneak in an interview

best of luck! Please be more aware of deadlines in the future?

@JalapenoGreens‌: So, routine self-interested dishonesty – and not assuming responsibility for one’s errors – is a fully acceptable way of operating. That’s precisely what you have recommended. You may want to ponder whether ethics of that sort will serve you (and society) well in the long-run.

@TopTier‌ Personally I would never do such a thing and I never recommended dishonesty. I recommended that she call the admissions office and ask if she could still apply. What I said about the internet was not meant to be taken seriously.

@JalapenoGreens‌: That’s good to learn. I guess I was confused becuase you said, [it’s] “worth a try.”
