Are chances of getting into Wharton a lot harder than getting into the other programs offered at U penn?

Yes and no. It is harder than CAS and SEAS (by a lot). It is easier than M+T, LSM, and Huntsman. The last three are impossbile.

Venkater is the biggest pessimist on CC....he says that M+T, LSM and Huntsman are impossible to get into. Hes probably right about M+T and Huntsman. They are hard to get into, but LSM is relatively similar in acceptance rate to Wharton. Although last year was its innaugral year they accepted 27 kids out of almost 200 applicants. Thats almost a 15 percent acceptance rate compared to Wharton's 11%. Once again you have to consider that last year was the program's first year so the stats might change for the Class of 2011. However, I dont think they will change enough to reach Wharton's level.

Just my thoughts.

Impossible is nothing.

200 kids applied for LSM. That is almost noone. Thousands apply to Wharton and all the other programs at Penn. It is almost apples and oranges. LSM is harder to get into than Wharton, no question. Also, I would think Penn would want to admit 50 kids, not 27, to LSM, like Huntsman and M+T, but did not have enough qualified applicants so they took fewer people. Penn and other top colleges will jsut admit fewer people if there are not enough qualified candidates. The integrety of the program means more than filling seats. This year I will not be suprised to see LSM's admit rate half.

I basically agree with venkater. The joint-degree programs are definitely more difficult than Wharton...
