Thanks

bumpbumpbump

I think you have a really good chance at the schools I am familiar with, ie Rhodes and Sewanee, especially if you do as you hope to on the ACT/SAT.

Might want to look at Holy Cross or Colgate both have slightly better academic reputations than most of your list.

why dont you apply to any ivies or other top schools?

because my stats aren't good enough? Add Baylor U to that list.

In everywhere, and I bet you will get merit money too!

you stats are sooooo good that you should definitely give ivies a shot.

DONT SAY THAT YOU ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Why would you think you are not good enough? People really overplay this whole admissions thing. Yes scores and such are VERY important, but you have good stats. And it seems as though you are a very interesting applicant. BUT WHAT I REALLY LIKE, you do not feel that you have to go to an ivy league college to validate you as a person as so many people do. DO WHAT YOU WANT! but, you could make it into an ivy league school, IF YOU WANT TO.

hmm wow thanks guys :) i got a little less positive feedback on earlier posts...

i've been doubting ivies because of class rank...mine is kinda...not good. unweighted at least. that 9% swing in w and uw is notable i guess...I dunno, hopefully it all holds. Im going with a 3.83 GPA into my last two terms of junior year, as long as i keep an A- average, the dam should hold :)

Also for ivies...my ECs aren't spectacular. I'd consider them below average - average, and I'm just not confident in that. My scores are respectable, but not competitive...I just think i belong a tier or two down from Ivies...any more comments are appreciated, thanks so much for the input thus far :)

Apply to reaches...

I really didn't know anything about colleges when I was applying the first time around... looking back... every school I applied to was probably a safety for me (granted the two that I had to decide between at the end were both very good for the major I was pursuing out of high school). Now I'm transferring and saying to myself... wonder if I would've gotten in as a freshman... or wonder if I would've gotten in if I would've applied as a transfer during my freshman year. It's a bad feeling wondering. Even if you choose not to attend these reach schools, I think it's probably a good to know whether you would've gotten in or not. Just my perspective though.

Thanks, I know to apply to reaches (thinking vanderbilt and emory at the moment) but i guess im more concerned with my chances at these realistic schools

lolok - dont ever let the people on this board or anywhere else ever make you feel less confident in yourself. YOU ARE JUST AS GOOD AS ALL THE OTHER KIDS WHO APPLY TO THESE SCHOOLS! Dont sell yourself short. IN life, make sure that you do take chances because you dont want to regret not taking them. So what if you get rejected!?!?!?! It is hard in the moment, but everything will be fine. If there is any school, ivy or not, that you dream of going to, apply and make your best effort to look as amazing as possible in your application and dont let anyone ever tell you where you are or are not good enough to get in. People who do that make me sick. Good luck with everything and always remember that having confidence in yourself will take you a LONG way.

I'm confident haha, but just more confident in admissions to non-ivy league schools ;)

And honestly, I think i'd rather go somewhere that has a good academic rep but isn't an ivy...but who knows, i still have half a year before i apply :P

To get back to my original question, anyone else have comments on my chances to the listed schools? or perhaps suggestions regarding other schools i should apply to?

Middlebury could be a cool reach. Maybe Redlands. I have no idea what you're interested in, so I dunno.

Where did the top600 high school comment come from??
Where is a list that ranks 600+ high schools? Where is a list that ranks any high schools? Mine's quite popular-that's why I'm interested.

there is...search on google. goes to 750 i believe.

bump---------------------

oh that didnt actually rank the schools hah it just divided the number of tests by students. musta taken a real genius to come up with that fair system.

what?............
