New Chances

<p>New SAT scores came out today. I have some hard data now.</p>

<p>Junior, Competitive public school (top 600)
3.8uw GPA, 4.08 w GPA, 10 total APs (two 5s so far)
Rank: top 16% uw, top 7% weighted
SAT (new) - 740 verbal, 670 math :(, 710 writing (10 essay, which is ********)</p>

<p>ECs
Track (9, 10, 11[L], 12[L])
Piano (10 years) - 4 Theory exams, 4 Technique exams, numerous recitals, competition (went to finals and alternate for all-state performance), helped out in a church program, ensembles
Traveling basketball (equivalent of a "B" squad) (9)
Referee for children's basketball (10, 11, 12)
Job 3.5 months (11)
Volunteer at hospital (11, 12) 150 or so hours projected total, probably more</p>

<p>Tulane, Syracuse, Rhodes, Miami U, BU, UT, Sewanee, Florida, Bucknell (both parents and two grandparents legacy)
Maybe Vanderbilt, Emory, BC?</p>

<p>I like your list of schools. But most of them seem like matches to me...I think you can add a few reaches to your list. I'd say all of those schools are matches..maybe besides Emory and BC? But i cant really say..since i dont know much about the other schools. Your stats are good though..so maybe you should think of some more competitive schools,</p>

<p>Thanks a lot. Yeah I think my SAT helped me a bit (I was previously around a 1330 equiv. with the PSAT). I'm just hoping that it bumped me up a notch. So are my parents haha. </p>
