Chances? :D

Hi! So Middlebury is one of my top choices and I'm curious as to my chances... any feedback would be greatly appreciated : )

Demo info: White, female, from Connecticut

Rank: School doesn't publish rankings but I'm at least in the top 5% (out of ~400)

GPA: 3.9

Junior year classes: AP Language and Comp, AP Chemistry, AP US History, honors Pre-Calc, honors Latin 4, Civics

Senior year classes: AP Lit and Comp, AP Psychology, AP Calc (AB), AP Latin - Vergil, honors Aerospace Engineering, honors Anatomy & Physiology, Physics

SATs: 2350 (800 critical reading, 790 writing, 760 math)

SAT IIs: 780 on Literature, 770 on Biology, 720 on US History

Extracurriculars:
4 Years of Crew (3 on varsity; I might be captain this year)
NHS President
music critic for the school newspaper
co-founder and leader of school's Aviation Club
founded youth volunteer organization that has gained national recognition

Awards: Harvard Book Award, National Latin Exam Silver Maxima Cum Laude (twice)

I plan on writing my essay about my favorite band and its impact on my life (influenced my desire to learn guitar, inspired me to give back, etc.)

At Middlebury, I would like to study English and languages (Spanish and German, if not more) with the intent of heading on to medical school (hopefully this will be supported my the fact that I have shadowed an ENT surgeon, an orthopedic surgeon, and an anesthesiologist, and worked as an anesthesia billing assistant). I also would love to continue rowing at Middlebury, and while I emailed the crew coach (still waiting to hear back) it's a club sport there so they likely have no pull over admission.

Other schools I'm considering: Harvard, Princeton, Amherst, Dartmouth, Brown, Johns Hopkins, and GWU. would most likely attend Middlebury if I got in, but I'm not positive so I won't be applying Early Decision.

You look fabulous, darling, but applying ED will double your chance of being accepted.

My fabulous son who waited for RD was wait-listed. While some reap multiple acceptances from this approach, others end up on the bottom of the coin toss.

If you really prefer Midd, I recom ED. I give you 90% odds that way, so I guess 45% RD.

I give you better odds at Hopkins and GWU, so unless you’d go there for the money, there is no point applying except as safeties.

You will very likely get in to Brown and Dartmouth.Amherst=Midd for you.

The top two are crap shoots for every highly qualified person, unless you are planning crew there-then you can try for a LL and have a peaceful Christmas .
