Your stats fall in line with what I had when I applied 4 years ago. In that respect, you are a competitive applicant. However, as I’m sure you know, numbers don’t paint the entire picture about a candidate. Set aside some time and consider your responses for the supplemental questions/essays. Use your stats and experiences and elaborate on them. For instance, it’s clear that you are a strong student as evidenced by your GPA and SAT scores. However, you may want to discuss what motivates you to do well in your academics and how you will use your aptitudes in pursuit of your goals at Bucknell. You should demonstrate that even though professors will guide you through your collegiate career, you possess the initiative and desire to learn on your own. I think many high school seniors believe that college will impart some magical knowledge over 4 years which will automatically result in a high salary job after graduation. If you can demonstrate that college is not a passive experience but rather an active endeavor, then you will be a step ahead of the Joe Schmo applicant. Additionally, I see you have volunteered 200 hours at a local soup kitchen. That’s a fairly ubiquitous form of community service and may not stand out in the eyes of the admissions officers. If, however, you explain there is a reason for your service at the soup kitchen other than acquiring community service hours, then you will show that you can be an active contributor to both the Bucknell and surrounding Lewisburg communities. Good luck with the application process!

Might look at Lafayette and Holy Cross-both similar to Bucknell. HC has nice campus-1 hour from Boston and is a big rival of Bucknell.

You look good for bucknell.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Thanks alot ilmor will deff consider that when finishing my app, @par72- If i dont get into bucknel ed i am deff gonna be applying to lafayette have to do more research on holy cross but thanks for suggesting another option. @ivy thanks for making me alittle more confident.

Just got new SAT score moved up to 1360 690 math 670 CR. Any more opinions. Early decision form signed and sent today.

any more opinions??

why Bucknell over Colgate?

I just felt more comfortable at Bucknell when I visited, Bucknell has an animal behavior program that I am very interested in, also they have a very good economics program which I am also interested in. I am sure I would be happy at either but I just felt like Bucknell was the right place for me.

I liked Bucknell too!!! Out stats are not that different. You never know what they’re looking for or what they need. My strengths is more science oriented but you have more AP’s under your belt already.

Yea i know i am just hoping now.

bump 10 char

Looking through some old threads about chances for Bucknell, and I was curious if you got into Bucknell Ed? If not, where did you end up?
