Chances ED

<p>How much does early decision help admissions and what are my chances?</p>

<p>SAT I: 800 Math, 780 Critical Reading, 750 Writing (1580/1600, 2330/2400)
SAT II: 800 World, 760 Math II
GPA UW: 3.75 ( including middle school grades that weren't removed from my transcript that, if removed, would put me at a 3.87).
GPA W: 4.52</p>

<p>Courseload: 5 AP US Government in 10th grade. 5 AP BC Calculus, 5 AP World, 5 AP Biology, 4 AP Spanish Lang, 4 AP English Lang (Took 5 junior year). This year AP Statistics, AP Environmental, AP Econ, AP English Lit, AP Spanish Lit, AP Psychology.</p>

<p>Activities:
4 years of Varsity Lacrosse
2 Years of JV Swimming and Cross Country
Volunteer for Chikumbuso AIDS foundation-- raise and ship school supplies to Zambia.
English tutor in small towns throughout Central America the last two summers.
Treasurer of National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society, member of English National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society.
Coach of 4th grade Rec Basketball Team for 3 Years.
Took a Molecular Genetics Course and Mount Saint Mary's University.</p>

Great Peer Review (like all the others I am sure).
Strong Essay: contrasts life in rich DC suburb with slums of San Jose.</p>

<p>great sats & sat IIs, good grades (While they'd see your ms grades, i think they'd only actually consider your hs grades), decent ecs. I'd say you have a solid chance w/ ed

<p>You are in the hunt. For very strong candiates like yourself, who are not legacies and/or recruited athletes, I think ED may give a bit of an edge. Others have analyzed this much more closely. You're also first generation attending college which is a plus. Good luck!</p>
