Chances? Especially for MIT!

Alright here we go-

Reach:
-MIT (my number one college)
-UC Berkeley (my number two)
-Stanford
-Cornell
-University of Chicago
-Yale
-Princeton
-Caltech

Target
-USC
-UCLA
-The rest of the UCs
-Carnegie Mellon
-Dartmouth
-Harvey Mudd

Safety
-State schools pretty much

This is my 4 year plan:
BTW I only just finished Sophomore year so

Freshman:
Geometry Honors A+
English 9 A+ (no honors available)
PE A+
World History Honors A
Biology A+ (no honors available)
Spanish 1 A+

Sophomore:
AP Biology A+ (also the #1 student and the only student ever at our school to score the highest score on every single test in a given semester)
English 10 Honors A+ (possibly #1, not ranked, but I'm the only person I know with an A+ with my teacher who taught it like an AP class)
Algebra 2 Honors A+ (also the #1 student)
Chemistry A+ (no honors available, but also #1 student)
AP World History A
Spanish 2 A+

My plan:

Junior:
AP Language & Composition
AP Calculus AB
AP Chemistry
AP Physics
AP US History
Biotechnology
Spanish 3

Senior:
AP Literature
AP Calculus BC
AP Statistics
AP Gov/Economics
Ceramics
AP Spanish OR AP Computer Science (unsure of which to take)
AP Psychology

Extracurriculars:
-Debate and Speech enrichment class in 1st semester of Freshman Year
-Guitar enrichment class in 2nd semester of Freshman Year
-Academic League (Academic Competition), planned for all four years of HS
-Junior Varsity Hurdler in Track and Field (plan to be Varsity by Senior Year)
However I only started this in Sophomore Year
-NHS, I plan to run for president next year so fingers crossed.
-I work as a Gallery Facilitator at the Rueben H. Fleet Science Center since March 2013 and my goal is work 100 hours.
-Because I turn 16 in Junior Year, I haven't been able to apply to any internships for the summer of sophomore year to junior year.. but I will be working for my Dad in England at his hospital.. but for only a week..
-I plan to do an internship between junior and senior years.

Honors and Awards:
-The Lemei Book Award (awarded to the highest student in Algebra 2 Honors)
-At our school, we have these Islander Awards that are given to the top 5% of the entire school in a particular department.
In Freshman year I received them in Maths, Science, and English.
In Sophomore Year I was the only student in my grade that received them in every single possible department I could win them in including Maths, Science, English, Foreign Language, History, and Academic Achievement. However, 2 other students in my grade did receive 6 of them.
-Hopefully I will get more as I go through High School.

It should be important to note that I'm not really an SAT person..
On the PSAT in sophomore year.. I received around a 1700 which is TERRIBLE.
Ahhh, I'm hoping I do better on the ACT.

Thank you for reading, how are my chances?!?
And what else can I do to bump up my resume?

You have to improve your sat score. That’s major especially for ivy leagues. Also find consistency with your extra curriculars at least have 1-2 that you do all years that you can instead of switching around as much. You could still experiment but if you dedicate yourself to 1-2 things it might be better.

chance me too!

You can probably have a good chance to get into all the schools you listed if you work on your sat score!

If your SAT score goes up you will have a decent chance but none of those target schools are matches (with a higher SAT they will be low reaches at best).

wait seriously?
so what kind of schools are my matches then?
my rank is 2/250 at a 95% white competitive public school (where I’m not white)
our API number is 9
I’ll be taking 13 AP courses out of the 16 that are available at my school.
IB courses are also not offered here.
I’m the projected Salutatorian.
well this sucks if I can’t even get into USC or Harvey Mudd…

btw I just got my bio sat subject test score and I received a 740.

bump?
btw I should mention my school is in the top 100 schools in the nations, its like #70 or something around there.
And Harvey Mudd is more of a reach I feel.

Matches are schools where your numbers are in their range and have greater then a 30-40 percent acceptance rate.

Depends on which program… Which field do you want to go into?

To work on MIT:

Be unique. Do something unique. Make something unique. Make yourself unique.
SAT must be higher than 2100 for a decent shot.

I’m sorry, but for MIT, it’s a high reach, unless you differentiate yourself from the rest. Everyone that’s applying to MIT looks like you in terms of academics and EC. If you don’t decide to do something truly unique, you’re not gonna stand a high chance in getting in.

Aim for perfect scores.

You should aim for 750+ on SAT Math, 770+ on Math II Subject Test. Ideally you should also have a good showing on Math competitions AMCs & USAMO. Finally, make sure you earn 5s on your AP Tests in junior year.
