Chances. . . EXTREMELY WORRIED. . .

I came here because everyone else at the chances board seems to be all ignoring towards me . . .
anyways
I am not worried about extra curricular, jobs and volunteer activities. Every day of the week I at least had something else to do . . .

Anyways
I have around a 3.5-3.6 UW
and i want to apply early decision
I have around a 1220. . .
I'm taking it again and looking to improve
Does Stony Brook check the writing now??! On Collegeboard it has a average 50% score for Writing as well. . .

thanks

Oh AP classes i took (or taking):

AP World History, AP American History, Anatomy and Physiology, Pre- Calc, AP Biology, AP Calculus, College Spanish

and oops. . . Early Action not Early Decision . . .lol

How did you perform in your AP classes? Neither anatomy and physiology nor pre-calc are AP. I would say if you did well on the AP's you have taken or are taking you will have a pretty good chance. What was the break down of your SAT score?

Oh... lol well umm AP world and AP us i only got 3's and im working on the other ones this year . . .

Math- 630
Reading- 590

Rbasu - Sounds like you're in the ballpark. You're right around our GPA/SAT averages from this year. Good luck!

Chris

Thanks Chris!

One more thing . . .does Stony Brook check the writing portion?
Collegeboard seems to have a writing portion score interval now.

I think they gauge the writing section. I don't think it will filter you out but if it is significantly lower than your other scores it may look bad. I wouldn't worry unless you had a score of 400 or something

No, we do not use the writing portion for admissions purposes, only for placement once you're admitted. We report a score because we receive the scores, but it will have no bearing on your admission.

Chris

Alrighty!
My scores are 640 math and 580 reading . . .
i'm pretty confident i'll get in but who knows . . .
