So I just got waitlisted at Wellesley. I was wondering if people could look @ my stats and tell me what they thought of my chances at Brown. Thanks.

GPA: 3.75 (uw) the kicker: C+ in precal first semester. senior yr. B+ 2nd semester though. All A’s on my record besides for that and 1 B- in geometry.
Rank: top 20-25% (not sure. only 40 kids in competitive school, so it’s hard)
6 AP’s (3 senior year–no AP spanish at my school, so Spanish 4 and precal) took advantage of curriculum at school–not hardest (b/c of math/spanish–but hardest I could take)
Scores on AP: US Hist.5, Europ. Hist5, AP Bio.4
SAT’s: 630 M, 790W, 760 CR (I obviously struggle a little in math)
SAT II’s: 780 US Hist., 660 Bio
EC’s: Amazing–Organized group to go to south america to work at school for poor kids (3 yrs.) in summer, International Relations Programs at G-town and Harvard, Student Council VP, Student Council all 4 yrs., International Camp that promotes Peace–involvement. 4 yrs., social service club, multi-cultural, make a wish, etc. Also, all-state track/xc runner and swimmer for 4 yrs. of high-school (talked to coaches) captain of all 3 teams.
Recs: All are people I know and trust. So I hope that they were pretty good. I know that one extra letter of rec. from a professor at one of the programs I took was really good.
*I am a white female and my family is middle-class if that helps.

So basically–I know that my stats. could be better, but I feel in the context of what I do that I did my best to get them. Are they the greatest? No. Are they competitive? I hope so–I honestly didn’t know before my waitlist at Wellesley and now I am even less sure. So please don’t eviscerate me, just give me some honest (and not too brutal, cause I’m sort of bummed already) feedback. Thanks.

^I forgot I have also been the editor of the literary magazine and the newspaper for the past 4 years and I have won some pretty distinguished awards for my writing.

you've only got a couple more days, dont sweat it dude. Who cares what I or anyone on cc thinks anyhow?

dknicks2488 thank you. i think you just wrote the smartest thing on this website.

Cautions optimism is in order. If they see you as a literay talent - as you appear to me - they will not hold your math (math "only" better than 80% of us) against you.

im a glutton for punishment, which is probably why i am responding--despite my belief that knicks was right and i should stop stressing. beprepn--thanks for that pat on the back. i hope that brown sees it that way, 'cause apparently wellesley didn't...I dunno, I think I just sort of took wellesley for granted, which was probably not such a great idea in retrospect. i haven't heard from any other schools, so I honestly am not sure what to think...Oh--speaking of english I got a 5 on my AP Eng. Lang Exam last year. that's 7 AP's if it matters. I didn't say that because I am sort of paranoid about someone seeing my stats and being like "wow, i know her." to be totally honest i am not too proud of using this webiste. my friends would die laughing at me.

Really? there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with using cc as long as you dont take it to seriously. I think you'll be jsut fine and I wish you luck. Try not to worry, though I know it can be hard when all you think (me) about is college decisions.

were almost exactly in the same boat. its kinda scary. you better get in.

haha, i'll do my best admit. anyone else wanna speculate on my chances?

I think that, if they don't reject you or put you on the waitlist, you're in for sure. I could be wrong though. It has happened before. But I have a real hunch I'm right.

Such insight, scrapiron215.

haha, well i guess i asked for that...
