Boston College
College of William and Mary
New York University
University of Pennsylvania
Washington University in St. Louis
Brandeis University
Wake Forest University

Stats:

SAT I: 710 math / 720 verbal
SAT IIs: 720 Math 2C, 750 Writing (didn't take 3 because I have ACT anyway)
ACT: 32 Composite
AP classes: Took 2 junior year, got a 5 on Comp. Sci. A and 4 on US History. Currently taking 2 AP courses this year.
Courseload: I take all the honors levels courses my school has. This year all but one class is honors level. So I'm taking a "most difficult" courseload.
GPA: 3.9 unweighted, 4.4 weighted
Rank: 8 of 400
ECs: My weakest area. I participated in a "challenge program" at a local college that was twice a week for a year. I did Ski Club for three years. As far as community service goes, I did some work in the Soup Kitchen but not much else. I haven't really had any leadership positions.
Recommendations: a really good counselor one, and I'm guessing good to great teacher ones as well
Essays: I think they're good, and I've had teachers that have said they're good, so I guess they're good.

I'm just trying to get an idea of my chances so I can be a little more (or less, as the case may be) confident when I start receiving those letters in April. Thanks in advance.

Schools also like geographic diversity. If everything is equal-school would prefer kid that from a different region. Transportation cost is really minor. 300 miles may cost you the same as 3000 miles in time and money.

I don't think you can absolutely count on Wm and Mary (their standards for OOS are higher than in-state) or on Washington University either. You are qualified but there are just so many others, so you would need to offer to fill a niche. Penn is a big Reach. Wm and Mary has set up evaluative interviews with trained seniors for the first time ever due to difficulty in choosing from their strong applicant pool. It might help to have done that interview and that extra essay assignment on their application. Your match schools are great schools with strong programs, too.
best wishes...

Let me put it this way: there is only a very small chance you will get rejected from all seven. BC, NYU, and Wake I would all give you about a 50/50 shot in (unless you are applying to NYU's business school, in which case it is a reach). Penn and Washington are probably reaches, and so is W&M because it is a public school (don't underestimate the selectivity of top public schools for OOS students). Brandeis I am not familiar with.

Thanks a lot guys. I did apply to one total safety that I didn't mention (my state school), but I'd really kind of hate to end up there.

And yes, I am applying to NYU's business school, so it is probably a reach. I'd be happy with any of those 7 schools though. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
