<p>I have to say outside of his playing bassoon, his stats are about the same as anyone else's. Of course taking calc 3 in high school is impressive, but from my POV, since I've already taken all those classes as well, I think the adcom at Chicago wouldn't be greatly impressed by it, especially if he got a D in diff eq. I think he needs decent-good teacher recs and good essays that show off either his personality or his love for playing the bassoon. But overall, he definitely has a great shot at getting in.</p>
