thanks to those who read and what do you think?

i'll be completely honest. i'm in the same boat as you, although i have a little bit higher sat scores. bottom line, they have 2800 spots for the freshman class. it looks like they're more of a school who cares about the "all around" student, not just grades, but your SAT scores are a lot lower than what they're looking for. you have a 25% chance, i'd say, considering that 25% of their applicants from last year had below a 3.0 (i think,) and that was with even fewer applicants. also, check out this list from college board. it might answer your own question:

i dont really understand what you're saying...they're loooking for the all around student so then shouldn't that give (us) a better chance? more and more schools are looking less at the SAT and they have seen an overall drop in the scores.

I guess i'm just bitter becuase i hate the SATs so much. I spent thousands of dollars on a private SAT tutor and while it did help, it didnt give me the boost i was hoping for at all. I worked my butt off doing pratice tests for 6 months with this great tutor. It just sucks because people like myself have more to show than f-ing test scores! It's truly enraging.

asap714- i feel your pain. i just detest the SATs.. they prove nothing!
they just test how long you can suffer before you start marking random answers lol
i heard neu is pretty random this year..

yeaaaaah, i didn't pay hundreds/thousands of dollars because my family just doesn't have that kind of money, so i pretty much took the SATs the way everyone should to make it equally as fair. SAT tutors don't help you learn anything, they just teach you how to take the test and get around ****. anywaaay yeah, what i was trying to say is that you're better off applying to NEU with those scores rather than a school that just focuses on SATs, because NEU does look for the "overall" student, rather than just the braniac student.
