My high school is a really selective, but public high school that takes only the top students in the County. Classes are honors, no APs available.

I would just like an idea of the kinds of schools that I would be able to get into. The ones I had been looking at so far are:

University of Pennsylvania (Possibly ED)
Cornell University (I know an alumni interviewer at Cornell)
Lehigh University
Georgetown University
Villanova University (EA)
University of Chicago (EA)
New York University
Washington University in St. Louis
University of Notre Dame
The College of New Jersey (in state)
Fairfield University
Marist College

i am most likely going to pursue a business major.

Any advice? Thanks!

26 views and no posts? come on guys, i'd like some comments!

You are not "average"
There will be plenty of schools that you have a great shot at
Have a well balanced list and be thankful that you have the credentials you do

An average student has 1500 SATs and is likely a C student--that is the definition of average

You're definitely not "average".. but I don't like the fact that your school doesn't offer any APs

University of Pennsylvania (Possibly ED) - High Reach
Cornell University (I know an alumni interviewer at Cornell) - Given that, high match
Lehigh University - Match
Georgetown University - Reach
Villanova University (EA)- Match
University of Chicago (EA) - Reach
New York University - Match
Washington University in St. Louis - Reach
University of Notre Dame - High Match
The College of New Jersey (in state) - Safety
Fairfield University - ?
Marist College - ?

Thanks for the responses so far. Sorry if the title of the thread seems like I'm trying to brag, because that's really not the case. I wasn't sure where I stood, and it's nice to hear that you guys think that I am better than average!

I would still like a few more responses though

bump (ppl are very unresponsive today!)

pleaseeeeeeee chance me!

come on ppl, is it so much to ask!?!?!?!

Maybe if your title wasnt so insulting...

calm down chipmunk--- some of your ECs are lame- you have quantity not quality... but your work is pretty decent and some good stats

id say high reach at penn
for the most part rich hobo is right

marist and fairfield are easy safeties and id say Washu and chicago are high matches too

don't listen to those discouraging people who think that they can tell someone when a school is a "high reach". you have great stats, apply everywhere you want, then see if you get accepted... it's the only way to know.

thanks yanks

i was wondering about that...is it going to hurt me that i dont show true dedication to many ECs? I think that the Spanish Honor Society is my biggest involvement, and it is something that I enjoy. Other than that, I know that my ECs are scattered. However, is there anyway I can turn that into a positive?

i was not trying to discourage him-- i agree he should apply to all those schools
what am i supposed to say-- penn is a safety?? no...

also if i were u dont choose fairfield there is nothing good about it

mr chip munk id say you should focus on the spanish and do activities involved with it-- i dunno teaching hispanic kids english or something (just an idea)...

just run with a passion and concentrate on ways to branch off of this topic

bump... =)

bump bump bump

sigh, no responses

come on ppl....anything!?!?!?!?

im desperate!!!

University of Pennsylvania (Possibly ED) REACH -- you're applying to Wharton
Cornell University (I know an alumni interviewer at Cornell) LOW REACH
Lehigh University MATCH
Georgetown University HIGH MATCH
Villanova University (EA) MATCH
University of Chicago (EA) LOW REACH
New York University REACH -- you're applying to Stern, not CAS...
Washington University in St. Louis REACH
University of Notre Dame HIGH MATCH
The College of New Jersey (in state) SAFETY
Fairfield University SAFETY
Marist College SAFETY

I have never heard of the last 3, but I assume they're safeties...
Chance me? :)

you really think I have a better shot at Georgetown and UChicago than NYU? Wow...I was considering NYU one of the ones that would be easier to get into...

Stern is insane to get into.
