I am an intended English major. On the sat, I got an 800 on the cr, a 700 on the writing, and a 550 on the math. On the sat II, I got a 790 in literature and a 750 in U.S. History. I am homeschooled, so my gpa and class rank are irrelevant. However, I have taken a few dual credit college classes, and got A's and 1 B.

My chances of admission?

My chances of getting enough non-loan financial aid to go through without paying anything for tuition or R&B. (I should get the max federal Pell grant). Like I said, I won't take out any loans, and I won't have any money outside what the school gives me.

You’ll probably get in but your math is really killing you. you need to get that up because smu doesn’t really care about the writing section of the sat. If you have time, try taking ap tests at the end of the year bc it’ll give smu something to measure your homeschooling against the other kids.

Since you really don’t have much to allow smu to compare with, i think you’ll have problems getting smu scholarship money.

Hi Austerity! Just so you know we have a counselor dedicated to homeschool students like yourelf, and she is knowledgeable about all that comes along with that. I acutally know a couple of homeschoolers here at school!

One can never accurately speculate as to whether or not someone will get in or not, however I would say that your CR score is obviously amazing and I think you look like a strong candidate. We do have a holistic evaluation, so test scores are just one of five things that are considered.
