May Someone Chance Me for SMU?

Work:
I don't know if this qualifies, but perhaps it shows leadership/initiative: I ran a Kickstarter campaign, and successfully raised $3000 to sell a poster I created; now I sell the poster on a website I run, averages about 20 posters a month

I have LOR's from an college English professor, German tutor, and a filmmaking professor I work with.

What I'm trying to bring out is that I demonstrate leadership mostly through my filmmaking EC's; that's the majority of time spent on. I led several projects with varying budgets to success; a few won local film festivals.

I'm seriously lacking in volunteer work; I literally have none. What's one way of volunteering that complements with my interests (Film, Writing, etc.) ?

Overall, thank you!!!

Your academics are great, your EC’s are good, but a little self-involved and not necessarily leadership per se overall. Being African American will help you. I think a lot of people your age are interested in film right now, so that may be competitive, and I am not sure SMU (where my son is admitted) focuses on that (maybe it does!!). Your entrepreneurship skills will be attractive. You need at least some volunteer work. I don’t know how to blend your interests with volunteering, other than some non-profit organizations which may need free filing/writing done for grants, brochures, promotion.
