Chances for an Athlete

hey guys,

i received an email from the track and field coach from st. paul's and i was just wondering about the chances of getting into boarding school due to athletics. i know that colleges often accept outstanding athletes and i was just wondering how often that occurs among boarding schools.

i've been doing track and field for a while now and last year i did rather well at my previous school. i was on the track travel team and we traveled to the phillipines (my old school was in shanghai) for a big meet for international schools. i did fairly well in the meet.. placing second in 100m with a time of 13.00(very competitive event) and 4x400m relays. i placed first in triple jump and 4x100m relays.

i'm aware that some of my times are faster than the fastest times at st. paul's. i was just wondering whether or not it is possible to be accepted for these reasons. my grades last year were alright but i'm getting much much better grades at my new school.

sorry if i came off as arrogant, i was trying not to. just asking a question so if anyone knows please let me know : )

I got into exeter for track. My grades weren’t that great but my test scores were pretty good.

I think SPS has a great track program, or maybe it is cross country, and you are in a good position.

thanks for the responses : )
and almost there, if you don’t mind me asking, but what were your times like for track? and what was your ssat score? and which grade were you applying for?
